Stayed for a week 22nd to 29th Sept 2011. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel and rooms very clean with fresh towels supplied daily. Very few english stayed here so food geared for the germans and dutch but could always find something to eat. Tip - take your own tea bags
as only scented tea bags supplied. Hotel in great location, just a few minutes walk from bus station, shops and beach. Only real bad point (not hotels fault) if using shuttle from the airport, the coach drops you on the main road leaving you to locate the hotel in the maze of small side streets carrying all your luggage. If you have walking difficulties or if it was dark it is not the best way to start a holiday. Once we knew the way to the drop off point it was only approx 120 yards but needless to say on our first day we seemed to walk round in circles.

We have just returned from 11 nights bed and breakfast at the Bertran Park and cant recommend it enough. As with previous reviews, we have never encountered such a FULL TEAM of friendly staff in a hotel abroad, ever!! Nothing was too much trouble - they were on hand to answers questions, have a chat about your day, made sure your room was well stocked and thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis, you name it!! We didn't venture to the cava at breakfast but it seemed very popular, especially as the clientel were from very mixed, mainly European backgrounds. We were in room 1408 - an end room overlooking the pool and we think it was worth the extra we paid for it - lovely sized room, some english TV and a massive balcony. Free air conditioning was also a bonus as we arrived in a heatwave! Yes, the pool is a tad small but this never presented a problem during our stay - there was room for everyone. We have visited Lloret and Fanals numerous times over the last 25 years and can honestly say this is our favourite hotel so far!

My wife and I have just returned from a week in Llorret de Mar on 12 September. We booked the Bertram Park based on previous Trip Advisor reviews which were very accurate. Arrival and reception at the hotel was seamless and very friendly. We were allocated a spacious room with a choice of either a double or twin beds with nice balcony overlooking a small city farm. The room and bathroom contained all mod cons as expected and was incredibly clean. This standard was maintained every day with towels, and showering requisites being replaced and the room cleaned spotlessly. The hotel had an attractive well maintained outside pool and terrace which was well serviced by friendly professional bar staff who were very efficient. I booked half board and was very impressed by selection,amount and quality of the food. At both breakfast and dinner I believe that it would be impossible not to find something to like. Around the basic staples, the selections were changed every day, were competently cooked and attractively served. Management and service of the very busy dining room was of a very high standard.
We had gone to Llorett as I am recovering from spinal surgery and needed a relaxing break. Due to my condition my capacity for poor service was at an all time low. However due to the caring, professional and friendly way this hotel is run I had absolutely no issues (a strange occurrence for me).
Finally I wish to mention two things. Yes there is Cava at every breakfast. A nice Spanish touch. The Cava is delicious and you can drink as much as you dare! I also cannot end by not mentioning Carla one of the best hotel receptionists I have encountered on my travels. A great hotel at a reasonable cost. As in everything in business it is the staff who make it excellent!

Just returned from a short break to the Aqua Hotel Betran Park with my husband to enjoy a few days in the Spanish sun. This Hotel is in a great location (just 10 minute walk from all the shops and restaurant and night life....however a few things you must take into consideration....we stayed in Room 1220 which overlooked a lovely allotment of vegetables and chickens!!!!! The Hotel has two blocks however the pool area is very small if the Hotel is at full capacity.
The food is average and if you do go full board like we did, you tend to find you have the same food for lunch and dinner.
We found a lovely pizzeria overlooking the sea called Paolo Pizzeria, service and food were fabulous! Well worth a visit and a table by the window.
The reception and restaurant staff are very pleasant, however Pablo the Pool bar man comes with a health warning, he is the most miserable front of house person I have ever experienced in my life!!!! I personally think he should be a back of house porter or a linen/ kitchen porter so that he has no interaction with any guests.... he will moan at you if you want to get your sunbeds early, he will literally look at his watch and swear in spanish, if you upset his routine (awful man). He will shake his head in disgust!!! When we complained to Reception we were told that he is a very special member of staff... sorry we did not agree as this really does upset your start to a beautiful day relaxing by the pool and have to be greeted by a miserable member of staff!!!!
The beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable, however the rooms are spacious and wardrobe space was good with a good size bathroom and a decent shower.
If like us you book a shuttle bus to and from the airport make sure that the bus driver has you on the list as their English is limited and this does take a good 3/4 hours to get to your hotel.
We found Lloret a beautiful town and you don't get hassled if you go in and out of shops a nice relaxed atmosphere all round.
Conclusion - Would definately go back to Lloret de mar but a different Hotel!
