“stayed twice and would go back”

Hi me and my boyfriend and our 6 year old daughter

we 1st stayed in Nov 09 for 5 days and it was really nice weather, hot in the day but cold at night.

the 2nd time was July 10 and the weather was nice and hot.

When you check in which is fast and easy you will get your picture taken and this is then put on a credit card type card and is what you show to get your drinks (2 per adult, 1 per child at a time0 and also what you show to get into the rest. The food was ok a bit samey all week but still managed to eat.

The 1st time we never knew there was a roof top terrace, take the lift to the top and there it is with 2 jacuzzi too.

It is a 2 min walk from the beach which is lovely and clean but the water goes from being shallow to really deep after a little bit, and there is plenty of boat trips etc which i do recommend

all in all a good stay and you get what you pay for

Room Tip: ask for a pool view room better than looking onto the main street

“disappointing stay”

We stayed at the Royal Beach from Oct 6th for a week. The room was fine, about what we were expecting from a four star, and the roof top jacuzzi was fabulous. The food was very disappointing, and the drinks were horrible, they were so watered down we ended up buying our own in. The restaraunt staff were really friendly, the bar staff not so. The fantastic weather more than made up for the hotel, the beach was very close and great and I enjoyed my stay anyway.

“The Great let Down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Stayed here over the Christmas and New Year festive season, but never again. As other people have stated the food is bland, with very little variety. With regard to the room, the towels were changed daily, but that is all. The bedside cabinets and bathroom fittings were not wiped down for the 2 weeks we were there.

The system that is used with regards to the drinks is a farce. When you check in you are given 2 cards which are used to obtain a glass with a drink. When you want another drink you take your glass back to the bar and along with a swipe card you can get another drink, but no glass or card no drink!!!!! So the idea is that the people who are not All Inclusive leave their empty glasses on the tables, so you take one of these glasses back, --- and hey presto --- another drink. After a while you can amass quite a number of cards!!!!! If you lose the card or forget your glass you have to put a 2euro deposit down to get another card!!!!! This does not matter really because the spirits are quite rough. My wife and I primarily drink coffee and the coffee out of the machines here is diabolical. If you want a ground coffee you have to pay extra!!! Maybe that is why a lot of visitors go over the road to a bar. If you want you can upgrade to A/I Gold at a cost of £18.00 per person per day!!!!! this then entitles you to branded drinks. --- So much for All Inclusive.

The Christmas eve meal and Christmas day meals were very good The New Years eve meal was excellent. The dining room was all lit with candles on the tables and the staff worked fantastically. The dining room staff and bar staff were good.. The reception staff were very helpful-- with the exception of one person --.
After the Christmas weekend a lot of British visitors on coach parties left, and were replaced with local spanish, and italian visitors who had come in for the new year weekend. From this time things went down-hill. The All Inclusive customers - like us - were now taking second place in preference to the other visitors -- maybe it is because they were paying for drinks and were not All Inclusive.
Some of these guests were rude and kept pushing in front --- they do not believe in queuing --- but hey that's life.

There is no proper place to relax, the bar area has no easy chairs , simply upright chairs at tables that have seen better days.

All in all we went away for a relaxing festive season and had anything but. The hotel is quite tired and in need of all round refurbishment.

I am afraid we will not be visiting Spain again for some considerable time!!!!!

Jeff. Stones

Room Tip: Try to get a low floor near a lift.

“very worst hotel ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

The hotel is dirty -mainly the floors and windows. The staff are unfriendly and lazy. The food is adecuate but cold. The bread and pastries stale -every day. My main complaint is that the alcohol made my eyes go red and i had terrible vision from it. This should be your main reason for not going here. The bar area is often unheated -its 7 degrees outside. The whole place is in the 70's with music from the era absolutely blaring out on a night. There are no tripleor quad rooms -they add beds suitable only for those under 4foot8. The resort is closed in winter with nothing to do. The beach is made from builders grit.

Room Tip: go to another hotel
