Very good experience as one night business trip. Everything what you need worked seamlessly. A tidy room with a small balcony, free wireless internet, check-in/out without any hassle and mouth-watering breakfast.

If you get better value for 100 euro or so per night, consider yourself extremely lucky.

A big plus to hotels' tranquil pool area surrounded by large green grass field. I wish I had more time to spend there.

We arrived at 11am on the first day, not expecting our room to be ready we were not surprised when we were told it would not be ready until 14:00. The fact that the girl on reception greeted us, handed us a check in form and then proceeded to deal with someone else should have served as a warning !! We returned at 14:00 to be told that the room was still not ready and that it "may" be ready today, would we like to sit by the pool until around 6 while things were sorted. We requested a room to change in order to sit by the pool while we waited as we were wearing jeans having flown in from Bristol and the temperature was touching 30degrees ! Not surprisingly, no one came to advise of the room status and so at 19:00 we returned to reception to the surprise of the young man we had previously spoken to, obviously hoping we would be dealt with by someone else ! After waiting 5 hours past the check in time we felt it was time to be more foreful. We demanded that our room be made available and we were eventually shown an alternative. A slightly better room than the one we had been using to change but still not a superior room. To compensate we were offered on days access to the hotel spa at an approximate value of £20 !
When we requested to know the difference in charged cost of the room we had been shown with that if the room we had booked the young man made a phone call and said that the manager would return to the hotel as he had left for the day and he would deal with things. He said despite the fact he was due to finish for the day himself, he would wait until the manager arrived. After the half an hour elapsed, aain surprisingly we had heard nothing. It was now getting to the point that we would not get changed in time to get food at the restaurant if things were not sorted. We returned to reception for the umpteenth time and surprise surprise, the young man who had been dealing with us had left for the day! We had to explain our situation all over again but this time, someone who obviously had some authority tool control and showed us to a room that was actually a level above that we had booked. There were no rooms available at the category we had booked, we received no explanation for why this had not been done earlier but were just glad to be in a room !
The room was great but the safe needed to be reset, we attempted this the following morning but it had still not been done when we returned at 19:30 that evening ! We have given up on this at the time of writing !
I think in summary the Gitart Monterrey is a very nice 4 star hotel with 5 star aspirations. The hotel looks impressive and is immaculately clean, however the service is abysmal. Suffice to say we will not be returning to or recommending this hotel. We can't say that we are impressed with Lloret de Mar in general !

I flew from Dubai to stay at the Guittart for the weekend on a friends holiday and was skeptical as the standard of hotels in Dubai is exceptional. I was pleasantly suprised and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and its clear why its the best in Loret de mar. The suite we stayed in was beautifull with great view, extrmply spacious the beds were very comfortable with tempur mattress and the bathroom stunning and large. The pool area was amazing, the landscaped gardens were impecabbly maintained and casino was alot of fun. The staff were very pleasant and helpfull and accomodating and always willing to go that extra mile, they even drove us to our pick upon checkout. Special thanks to Freddy and Patricia who really made our stay extra special. The only negative comment was at times communication when ordering inhouse dining the staff's english was limited and our spanish was nil. And lastly there was no CD players in the room.

Having been in Lloret before, I knew what to expect for the hotels but I was quite surprised by this hotel. Being on my honeymoon and my american wife never being anywhere before I was real nervous especially due to the occasion of the trip. The hotel was best in town, the staff wonderful , the room beautiful and the overall feel was everything I hoped in. Thank you for the great time and hope to be back real soon
