The room that I received lacked a table, was dark and the railing on the stairway was so loose it could not be leaned on. The sink in the room was in the middle of repair. The only window was high above the door and could not be reached without standing on a chair (I am six feet tall). This sole window opened into a smokers court yard that had a tarp roof. This made my window something of a chimney when someone smoked in the court yard. The kitchette did not operate at all. I was told that the <<Residence>> in the hotel name was <<just a word>>; and that the kitchenettes were being taken out and that I should <<imagine them not there>>. When I asked to see another room, it had very similiar issues. It was dark with one small window opening into the smokers courtyard and the kitchenette was inoperable. When I booked the room (July 2011) their webpage said: <<Our rooms are actually like mini apartments because they are multi-level, have various options (air-conditioning, Internet, satellite tv) and a spacious bathroom, as well as an equipped kitchenette>>. It continues to say this today (November 2011). This a lie. There are no kitchenettes. CMs price was 55 euros in September 2011. I ended up staying at the Alle Due Badie Residence a short walk away. It was bright, clean, well-furnished and equipped with an excellent kitchenette. It was 60 euros per day. Hotel Vittoria (60 euros - no kitchenette) and Residence Le Due Badie (85 euros - with kitchenette) were possibilities that I investigated after leaving CM. Enjoy your vacation or business trip in beautiful Trapani and find a place other than the Cortille Merce to stay.
