“Could do better...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2010

Location OK, pool OK, rooms shocking... probably the worst equipped timeshare rooms we've stayed in. We had a one bedroomed apartment but in fact was just two bedrooms as there were no chairs or sofa in the 'lounge', just two single beds and a old table with four mixed chairs. Furniture and fittings were Butlins/Pontins circa 1976 so if you're into nostalgia the this is Ok, for anyone else be prepared...No kettle just two small electric rings and a pan, balcony was Ok but little view. TV showed five local channels, all in Greek, so take your own entertainment.

The village was Ok with some nice Tavernas but holiday let down by the accommodation - we moved out after four days and paid to stay in another resort up the coast.

“The rooms are basic but the overall experience is excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2010

We stayed in one of the fairly basic rooms, There was no real cooking facility in the room, as I recall just a sink and fridg, but we did not miss that even though we usually like to make breakfast for our selves. There are good to excellent restaurants and bakeries within a 5 minute walk. The staff was helpful and the management makes it a point to bring the guest togather to meet one another, and I think that is what makes this resort stand out. If you want a high class, high cost tourist experience, this resort and the area it is in is not for you. If you want to relax, meet people and and tour the quieter areas of Crete, definitely give this a look. My only regret is we did not get out and about as much as I would have liked. I guess I will just have to go back.

“I agree with review of 16th October”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2010

We stayed at Villea Village at beginning of October with some trepidation after reading the two most recent reviews. To put the record straight we could not fault any member of staff, they just couldn't have been more helpful. Nico at the Pool Bar orchestrated everyone over drinks and before you knew it we were all spending time together, laughing and enjoying making new friends. Although the rooms were basic, we had everything we would need for our week. The management are eager to know if you have any specific requirements and will go out of their way to try to meet them. Go with an open mind, you get back what you give to a vacation, and we certainly had a good time despite one of us not feeling 100% for most of the week. Sandra and David

“Great Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2010

I don't know what the folks who wrote last three posts are used to but my wife and I have just returned from a great holiday in Villea Village. Yes, the apartment was simple and the air con was not fully functional but the complex was everything we wanted AND everyone we met felt the same. We had full cooking utensils and ate in a couple of times. Vassili, the owner/manager and all the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful with Vassili personally taking a group of us, as he does every week, on a walk down and along the local gorge - a wonderful experience. He also cooks the weekly BBQ and organises a weekly quiz which attracts around 50 participants. I would happily recommend Villea Village to anyone. RH Glasgow

“Wish we had gone somewhere else.”

Resort, local beach shops and restaurants very good. Nice swimming pool at Village. The apartment in Villea Village are old, tired and pretty grim. Studios are not suitable for self catering, not even an electric kettle. Not up to the usual stand of RCI. Some staff very friendly others just ignore you. Probably the worst place we have ever been.
