Stayed on a Saturday night on our way to NY from FL. We stayed at other Motel 6's before, so we figured this couldn't be too bad. How very wrong we were. I understand that for the price we weren't going to get the Ritz Carlton, but to be honest, it was a scary place. After checking in and paying, I noticed a sign for an "hourly rate". Um...not exactly the type of place that I was looking for. The night that we were there, there were a bunch of youths outside drinking and partying - until 5 AM. This naturally kept us a bit on edge and we ended up getting a tiny bit of sleep and checking out by 5 AM to get back on the road. Rooms were really dirty and smelled awful. My advice to you is to stay far away from this motel.

On a drive from Orlando to Toronto we stopped in at the Motel 6 in Roanoke for a one night stay. It is extremely confusing to get to, and sits in the middle of a parking lot for semi-trailers, an assortment of restaurants and gas stations. It is convenient, but that has to be its only plus. It looks and feels like a converted apartment building (although I can't imagine who would have lived there) and the staff at the front desk was really rude. Take a pass if you can...and try something else...

I booked w/ Motel 6 to save money and because they allow pets. Technically they allow 'a' pet but the motel has side doors so I managed to easily get my 2 cats in. They have wifi, which I am currently using to write this, at $2.99 for a 24 hour period. The staff was friendly enough, and hallway is pretty chilly and gets more so towards the end, but it's just a hallway.

The room was a bit balmier so I cranked up the a/c. It has a weird smell, hard to describe. Almost like a coffee scented chemical. Once youre in the room for 5 minutes you can't tell. It's very plain, but I found the room clean. Tv works, gets 25 channels, sheets are clean. It's sparse, but you know what? It's $50 buddy. If i wanted a nice place to stay I'd spend more :)

Some friends and I were traveling from PA to NC this past weekend, and after driving more than half way Friday night, we decided to stop and get a room. We paid a little over $60 for our room, and crawled into our beds and crashed. When we woke up the next morning, we discovered one of our pillows had a BLOOD STAIN on it. Not to mention 'unmentionable' body hair in our shower. The rest of our group decided to wait to shower at our destination. After informing the front desk, they gave us a gift certificate for a free night stay. No thank you!!
