“Nice option with unexpected perks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

This is a nice, middle-of-the-road hotel with modern decor (I love red walls!) and large rooms. The best thing about it is that the rooms have working fireplaces, complete with free duraflame. There's also a tennis court (smaller than regulation) and a basketball half-court. The offer free breakfast and free dinner/drinks Mon-Thu. The only things I wasn't crazy about were the lack of amenities in the room (specifically, no lotion), and the fact that you can hear the people above you walking around. If you stay at this hotel, you may want to request something on the 2nd floor.

“Great hotel and location!”

This is a very nice Residence Inn in a good location close to the Beltway. Checkin went well, room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Manager's reception was pleasant and definitely enough for dinner. Good breakfast also included in the price. Wifi and parking also complimentary. Very happy with this deal, would definitely stay here again.

“Serendipity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Planning a 2 night Raleigh trip we looked for a reasonably-priced yet conveniently-situated venue. The Residence exceeded our expectations. Because it is set back from a busy street and the layout is in clusters of apartments, it is very quiet. Plenty of parking close to rooms. Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent and abundant complimentary breakfast. Comfortable, clean room. best of all- superb location that is minutes from downtown as far as outlying attractions.

The only negative is that the room is one of the older ones and despite upgrading and excellent cleaning--still retained a slight odor from the pre "smoking allowed" days.

We would definitely choose it again.

Room Tip: Check o see if the "discount rates" apply to older rooms that may not be as comfortable an...

“Highly recommend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I just stayed here with my family. The room was fantastic, clean, kitchen well-stocked, beds were comfortable, fireplace was a wonderful bonus! This was a great location: surrounded by restaurants, minutes from downtown museums, etc. We got to town incredibly early. They happened to have an available room and let us check in at 9:00am at no extra charge!! This absolutely saved our trip. The breakfast was great. The staff were all warm and friendly. We were actually sad when it was time to leave!

“Bring your hiking boots”

This is a weird "hotel". The layout is more like 10-12 small clusters of 2 story apartment buildings, all with outside entrances and no elevators. Parking was not close to my building & room, and I had a hard time even finding my room due to inadequate signage. Then I had to walk up 2 flights of outside stairs to get to my room. The room itself was equally weird-- with the main bed/sleeping area up YET ANOTHER FLIGHT OF STAIRS in a loft. Good tv was downstairs in front of a sofa; loft TV was an old 20" tube set, barely watchable. Ceiling paint in downstairs bathroom was peeling badly, with pieces of paint laying on the floor. I was totally unimpressed with this hotel and everything about it.
