“Worst of worst - Raleigh”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

I think this hotel should be removed. It looks like occupancy rate is well below 5%. Front desk staff is waiting for me, she even called my first name which means I was the only guest. Other guests are all cash paying construction workers day by day. I can't believe the hotel got a sanitation score 90 for their breakfast area. Horrible, unclean, completely worn out hotel by far the worst of worst hotels in Raleigh, maybe nationally. Please see the pictures and decide by your self. I left for other hotel after 10 minutes of check-in.

“I Will Not Stay Here Again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 July 2010

I stayed at the EconoLodge Raleigh on a weekday night after attending a nearby concert. I arrived late and there was a drunken man near the lobby who approached me. I was not impressed with him or the receptionist, both of whom were sloppy individuals. The interior hallway on the third floor was not air conditioned and the room was stifling hot. The AC ran all night to cool the room. While the room itself was satisfactory, I was not impressed with the exterior appearance of the hotel or the dirty elevator. The pool was closed on the day before summer. Breakfast was awful, with weak, bitter coffee and stale waffles. Even though I had stayed for free due to reward night redemption, I did not enjoy the visit and did not sleep well. I would encourage travelers to try the Sleep Inn instead, a brand I have stayed at before but not in the Raleigh area. Good Luck!

“Easy In, Easy Out But Nothing To Write Home About”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2009

I would recommend this hotel if you are on a budget and need to stay only for a night or two - no more. Otherwise, the bed was in bad condition (only a few inches of padding for the mattress) and everything looks a bit worn and used. However, it was quiet and convenient but we kept hearing what sounded like something in the walls.

“Proximity to the Mall”

Fairly decent place. Good location near the freeway and not far from the Crabtree Valley Mall. Good value-for-money kind of a place. Rooms are quite nice.
