This Hampton Inn is just adjacent to the Raleigh-Durham airport and is obviously geared for travelers. It is one of two that are near the airport, but this one seems closer to the airport, and seems to be newer. It is also especially set up for large groups --- soccer teams when we were there. While the numerous children and their families crowded the lobby and commons area when we checked in, there was no noise and running around during the night --- the hotel had very specific rules about that which were observed (and presumably enforced). Overall the hotel was fine: clean, with adequate seating and lighting and some decoration. Especially appreciated were the four sets of decent towels. The major drawback to this hotel was a very uncomfortable bed which was made up with sheets that barely fit the bed. Breakfast was nothing unusual or special. Staff was pleasant and very accommodating. We were a family traveling together, and when making the reservation had requested adjoining rooms. Upon check-in we learned that all adjoining rooms had been given to the soccer teams; as an accommodation, since we couldn’t have adjoining rooms, we were given the team rate which was $79.20 plus $10.09 tax for a total of $89.29 --- a very good value which we appreciated.
Room Tip: Get there before the kids' teams check in to get a room of your choice.
