“Scary before Halloween”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

Oh man this was a waste of money to stay here. Floors were terrible, did not dare take our shoes off. kitchen area was a joke, smoke alarm was beeping when we went to the room, they did fix that I was surprised. The noise was terrible all night long, people in and out slamming car doors and room doors, cars driving up and honking horns all during the night. City of Raleigh Police should keep a check on this place. I would recommend this place to my worst emeny. Nasty, nasty, picutres do tell lies.

Room Tip: Do not stay here!

“Great bang for you buck!”

I came in town for the state fair and was looking for a reasonable hotel with amenities. My room was very spacious, comfortable and most importantly clean, the staff was very friendly and the location was perfect for me and my family. I have to come back to Raleigh, in December for a graduation and I will definitely be staying here.

“Sticky floors and used condoms on the hallway”

This is one of the worst hotels I've ever visited.
This place looks pretty good on the website but the rooms did not match the descriptions.
.
There were children running up and down the halls at all hours of the night. This is an extended stay facility. There were refrigerators with ice trays in the room, but no ice machines anywhere on the site.

We called to complain to the desk clerk. He offered to refund our money and let us leave then, but there are no refunds on any unused portion of the stay. We booked four nights and were too tired to move the first night so we had to stay the entire four nights or loose our prepaid rate.

Room Tip: To get a good room here, go somewhere else.

Dear Mr. Cliffway-

Thank you for your feedback on our hotel. I apologize that your stay here wasn’t to your satisfaction and we do strive to have all of our guests happy with their stay. We have a night attendant who is to walk the property and clear it of any noise or laundering hourly. I apologize that you still found the property to be noisy. I will be discussing your review with my entire staff as this is not what the Lodge America Raleigh stands for. We strive to provide an always clean and friendly experience. If you decide to come to Raleigh again I would hope that you will give our hotel a second chance and ask to speak with the manager on duty to reserve your reservation.

Sincerely,

Tiffany, General Manager

“Deceiving Pictures”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

The pictures make the hotel look nice and upscale, but when I arrived at the hotel, which I almost missed cause it was in the back of a parking lot, it seemed so hood like. They only had one person working so when I arrived the office door was locked and I had to wait for the attendant to finish his round. The building smelled so horrible, that I got sick after my 1 night visit. Although the room was mostly clean physically, the maid still left hair pins and condom wrappers in the middle of the floor in plain sight.

Room Tip: If you don't mind the bad smell, and the kids running around unsupervised the twin room is fine...

“The worst experience I have ever had in a motel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 September 2011

The room was clearly marked on the outside room number sign as a non-smoking room but reeked of smoke and was not only dirty but had mold growing in the broken heating/cooling unit. They refused to put me into a room that was not actually a smoking room because they were "booked" and it was the last room. They did not have shampoo available and I was informed that they did not stock it for the rooms. They did not have pots or pans to enable you to use the kitchen for preparing food because they "did not have enough". The shower head did not work properly. The front desk staff was uncaring and unhelpful. They left a young mother and father, who were also guests, with their newborn infant stuck outside late at night because the front desk individual was MIA. The room was dirty, they had bed bugs, the only thing they offered was a spray bottle with some chemicals to overpower the smell of smoke. To top it all off the mattress had a very large blood stain on it where I had rested my head for the two previous nights! Many other individuals staying at the same time complained of the same situations and the staff did nothing to correct any of it. Due to Hurricane Irene the motel was full with individuals that had come from the Outer Banks of NC and surrounding areas and most agreed that they would never stay again and that they did not get what they paid for or were promised by the motel. But they had already paid for the rooms and due to the hurricane there was no other places readily available to move to. When I checked out they overcharged me for the room and only did a partial refund for the time I had paid for but did not stay. When I contacted the Manager for the area he informed me that he would look into the situation but there was nothing he could do about a discount or refund for the time I had stayed because I had already checked out and they can only offer discounts or refunds prior to check out even though I brought all of this to the General Manager's attention and asked her to do something about it. He also told me that I should have just left after the first night if I was unhappy with the room. I told him that that was not an option as I had already paid for the room there and that there was no other rooms available in the area due to the hurricane evacuees. The area manager seemed unwilling to correct my stay but offered to give me a discount on any future stay at his motels. Really!? So you think I want to subject myself to that nightmare again!!? NO THANK YOU. I promise that I will never make that mistake again and I can only hope that nobody else does either!!
