I live on the road about 3/4 of the year, and usually book my own rooms. When my office booked this place for me and my rather large crew for the duration of an extended (8 weeks) project, I didn't mind at all. I often stay at Extended Stays and Homesteads on the road. I am a member of their rewards program.
I gott'a tell you, this place and its staff have made me rethink this brand's future value to me. Start off with the manager. She is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE at her job. Being a manager myself, I know what it takes to make a customer feel right. This one has few, if any, management skills, especially when dealing with the public. She has plenty of attitude though. Our company had up to12 rooms at one point rented, and the complaints were legion.
The weekly room service, when it even occurred, was a joke. The operation couldn't even replace the same number of towels, or actually clean anything (other than somewhat feeble attempts at the shower/bath tub). They wiped down nothing! When I first arrived and went to set my laptop up, the counter was encrusted with dried substances which I cleaned up myself. They never wiped these counters down, nor the bathroom counters. I use these kinds of hotels so I don't have to bring cleaning stuff along - for the bathrooms or the kitchens!
The stain on the floor that happened from the maintenance man fixing a leaking pipe (which flooded my room the first week in the place) was never cleaned up. I doubt they vacuumed more than once or twice the whole time I was here by all indications.
They didn't even carry enough change on the weekends to do laundry, and of course they had no change machine in the laundromat.
I could go on, but won't bore you with the other gory details. Suffice to say, I will think twice before ever staying in a Homestead again. I will fight my office tooth and nail before staying at this particular one ever, ever again!
