The inn is well-located not far from downtown Raleigh, the NC Art Museum, and the Crabtree
Mall. We found the staff to be very helpful and pleasant. The room is smallish, and the bathroom is fine. Both room and bathroom were very clean. Other than that, it was pretty basic - the mattresses weren't very comfortable, and the televisions are the old, bulky style. However, they got tons of channels and you didn't have to go through a hotel menu to get to them. Very nice continental breakfast - which included everything from microwavable breakfast sandwiches to waffles to all kinds of hot and cold cereals and fresh fruit. Plenty of healthy options, which was nice. Overall, an okay experience for what you pay, which is pretty reasonable.

We went for a wedding. The room was small, bathroom and little vanity area small, closet small, not much floor space either. Again, I was traveling for a wedding. If I was on an overnight business trip, all would have been fine. The mall and plenty of restaurants are close, about a couple blocks. You could walk if needed, but we would drive. The front desk sells BEER and I think wine. This was great. We had some time to kill at the pool and didn't expect to be able to drink down there because we didn't want to run to the store. But they have a nice selection of premium, microbrew and domestic. I don't know their backstock, but the little fridge could be wiped clean by 5 guys in two hours. The pool and deck area outside was a little small but no big deal, it's a fairfield not a resort. I am glad we stayed. If I came back for business nearby, I would stay again. If I was brining the family for a weekend, I probably would stay in a full service with more amenities. I typically use fairfields for overnighters when the hotel is just somewhere to sleep and I would rather shift the money to the fun stuff instead of the hotel.

I am a platinum Marriott member and while I have stayed in a handful of worst hotel in my 32 years of work/travel, this was undoubtably THE WORST MARRiOTT I have ever stayed. My room had dust on the old popcorn ceiling, I had to check to make sure that a mattress WAS on the bed because bricks would have been softer. In the bathroom porcelain was chipped of the toilet, sink and tub. In the tub the bottom (no slip surface) of the tub was coming up. And finally the smell of disinfectant was prevelant throughout the floor and room. The only reason I stayed was it was close to my office but for $107 per night! You've got to be kidding me. Avoid at all cost
