“Fun Time but Different Experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I'm going to be as frank as possible, this hotel altogether is fine:

It's directly next to a Crabtree Tavern
Walking Distance (2 minute walk) to Crabtree Valley Mall
5 Mins from I-440
10 Mins to RBC Center etc..

The Rooms are very nice, everything is set up in the form of a suite etc...

Some of the Suites have balconies (as ours did) which is nice so then you can come out and relax on the balcony etc...

The breakfast ladies are absolutely wonderful, they looked overworked and tired, we were there both Saturday & Sunday Morning, and one lady Mable (who I remember from 3 years ago still works here) she remembered me and was very coordial and nice and sat down to talk with me..

The breakfast was good, not excellent, they were nice enough to bring out some extra yogurt for me after breakfast closed...but you can tell they were tired...however they were still as nice as possible...

The only hiccup was on Saturday morning, when we had just woken up and I was bringing the kids to breakfast, there was a knock on the door and I answered and she said, "do you want your room cleaned today this was at 9:00 a.m..." I said yes maam I would but could you come back possibly in an hour 30 mins or two since my wife was still sleeping and the baby needed a bath etc..She said, "well tell me a time so I can come back because we're leaving early today"...I looked at myself and thought, okay and what does that have to do with me...I said well just come back then I would appreciate it...

She was like hum and walked down the hallway..We returned back to the hotel around 3:30 p.m. and the room still hadn't been made yet...I went to the front desk and explained our room hadn't been cleaned and if it could.

We got back to the room around 6:00 p.m. and the room had been cleaned....

It wasn't a huge deal, but why tell me that your leaving early today???

Anyhow, I would stay here again however I might just make the room myself next time..

Room Tip: If you want a quieter room ask for the room to be facing the pool area...

“Near the mall”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I've tried the embassy near Crabtree - this Homewood Suites was better. I would book based on price. If this place is a bargain go for it. If not, don't pay extra to stay here.

“Great location, terrific hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed at this hotel because we wanted something convenient to the RBC Center, where we had tickets for a Syracuse vs NC State basketball game. It was extremely easy to get to the arena from the hotel while avoiding a crowded interstate highway. The hotel was also a short walk from a major shopping center, which was very nice given the proximity of our stay to Christmas. The hotel itself was immaculate with an excellent complimentary breakfast. The room was large and the TV was HD quality. Staff were friendly. We would certainly stay here again if we visited Raleigh.

“Stayed Here for Mall Proximity”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

My family and I stayed here on our trip home from Atlanta to DC. It took six hours to get here from Atlanta. When we arrived we were granted an early check in, which was nice. HTe lobby smelled like frech baked cookies, but we couldn't find them (smile)! THen we noticed all the halls smelled sweet like that. I'm not sure if the air vents were sprayed with something, but it was sickening after awhile.

This was our first time staying at a Homewood Suites. I read the reviews and honestly wanted to stay somewhere else. but QUick Draw McGraw had already paid for the room!

The room wasn't too bad. It smelled kind of musky before the A/C kicked in. I liked the seperate bedroom suite. Everything looked clean except for the bath tub. We couldn't figure out if it was rust around the bath tiles or blood. So, we stayed clear. We figured it was only for one night and we wouldn't be in the room long anyway.

The mall is down the hill and across the street. You can walk to it. The mall was nice. Nice shopping. Nice eating! We ate at Cheesecake Factory when we wrrived for lunch. THey never fail no matter the city you're in (smile). That night we ate at the Pit in downtown Raleigh. It wasn't bad, but I thought NC's barbecue was supposed to be the best??? I can get that in DC!

Anyway, the hotel wasn't bad. I liked the kitchen area. We needed it!

Room Tip: The breakfast buffet was not the best. If you plan to drive more than an hour after you eat, please...

“Comfortable thanksgiving weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Hotel was clean, spacious and staff courteous. Just what we needed for a home away from home this past thanksgiving weekend. Location was excellent - quiet, with a walking trail across the street. Being next door to a good shopping mall was a great treat as well.
