Stayed here during the month of November 2011 while working for the NCDOT. The grounds of the complex are very clean and theres nothing unsafe about the area. Pinehurst is a resort town that caters to golfers. I found the overall staff to be better then pleasant and extremely helpful and courteous. The lobby area offers a bit to be desired. Just appears to be old and overall the entire hotel could use a refit. The hotel has a bar within however does not offer any type of food service. If you want to eat you either need to drive a few miles or walk across the parking lot to the Hickory Tavern. Theres nothing wrong with the Hickory Tavern, I just personally find their offerings to be pricey and in experience with other Hickory Taverns am not impressed with their staff. I had a single king room and found the rooms to be oddly laid out with the doors facing each other or catty cornered. The neighbors I had were golfers so they left their door unlatched most of the night while they partied and even tried of course to open my door a few times. Overall the rooms are quite clean. The cleaning staff obviously does an above average job and the televisions were nice. The decor is drab and again could use an upfit. Overall if your in the area to play golf its a great place to stay as it seems to cater to the golfers trying to escape their wives for a few days. For the family I personally wouldnt recommend it however it wouldnt be the worst place to stay by far.

I had a BLAST at this hotel. Not only did they have a bar which was GREATTT, the staff was extremely friendly. I felt at home staying here. There was also a group in town that i spent alot of time with on my stay and it made the stay that much greater. I am not into golf but from all the conversations I had with everyone staying here.. If you like golfing you need to come to this area. The breakfast was nice. The room was clean and they recently upgraded to flatscreen TVs :-). AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME>.... I have no other words at this time...

I stayed (solo) in a group-booked hotel for a 30+ golf outing from Raleigh, NC. The hotel was typical for the chain - quite room, comfortable bed and okay surroundings. The breakfast was okay and had the sausages, cereals, bagels and coffee/juice and waffle-making equipment. That was just fine for me. Room had one bed, a lounge chair and hassock, desk and TV in cabinet. I liked not having a second bed in the room.

The TV was the "old" chunky kind. But, I was there to play golf not watch tv. I would have liked a small fridge in the room; and because that TV cabinet took up so much room, there was no place to put the in-room coffee machine. I couldn't get my wireless internet connection for my I-touch to work and the front desk seemed clueless -- but so was I.

LOCATION:
It's on the main drag of a divided highway. On the eastern side heading "north." Between Morganton Rd and Midland Rd. and inbetween the towns of Pinehurst and Sandhills. Close enough the a variety of mall-like places to each. We ate at the Bonefish Grill and had a pleasant meal. There are some local places to eat as well and the hotel staff can clue you in. IF you are NOT the golfer but along for the ride, there are several Tea-rooms around for lunch.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay here on a golf trip with 7 other guys - great location centrally located very close to Pinehurst & the courses we were playing. Good breakfast selections in the morning, Nice pool area. Lots of Dining choices close. would definitely stay here again.
