We missed our ferry out of Ocracoke and are happy we did, otherwise we would have not discovered this little gem of a place. Situated off the main drag, within walking distance of the shore and lighthouse, is this wonderful little home--we took the suite on the top floor, complete with our own private balcony. The bed was soft and comfy, the furniture took us back to times past when things were leisurely and quiet! And there was a very nice tub with jacuzzi. We had our selection of wine to choose from, complementary, for happy hour, along with various cheeses, and since we had to leave very early the next AM, the owner very graciously fixed us two breakfast bags to take along on the ferry. I would highly recommend this place for an "off the beaten path" leisurely excursion back in time. Be sure to walk the nature trail down to the beach, a winding path through a grove of Carolina beach forest, you almost can sense the ghost of Blackbeard the Pirate.
