“Nice beach....just okay hotel.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

We spent one night her in September. I chose this hotel because of the location and the convenience to the beach, also i was able to get a reasonable price on a weeknight.

I was happy when we arrived a few hours before check in time to find our room was ready for us. This was a great start. We checked in, unpacked the car and headed to the beach.

Like i said, the beach is nice here but the hotel itself is in some serious need of updating. I would like to make mention that the staff was very friendly. The room had very outdated furnnishings and the bed was very hard, it also smelt bad. The balcony was very dirty. The breakfast area also needed some updating.

I would say this is a somewhat reasonable priced hotel for what you get, but if you are looking for any luxury at all.....this is not the place for you.

“Wonderful New Years stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

This was our first trip to Ocean Isle Beach. After looking at reviews and some phone calls, we decided on the OIN. We had a wonderful time. I have more pros than cons, but I will list the pros and cons (just my opinion) to the hotel:

Pros:
1) The management was excellent to deal with. No request went unfulfilled
2) The indoor pool/hot tub was nice and we had it to ourself mostly
3) The accommodations were very nice. We had a king room and had plenty of room plus some. It isn't a big chain but was still a nice clean room.
4) The view of the beach was great!
5) The hotel was very close to everything (food, pier, etc)
6) They did have free continental breakfast in the morning, which was pretty typical, but still a nice feature.

Cons:
1) The wifi was pretty buggy. It didn't work most of the time. It did pull through occasionally.
2) The walls were pretty thin. Out of the 3 nights, we had people beside of us for 2. We could basically hear their whole conversations without really even trying to listen
3) This didn't apply to us, but didn't see where they were handicap accessible. They did have an elevator, but you did have to climb a couple of stairs to access the elevator. They may have had something arranged, just not where we could see.

All and all it was a very nice trip. We had a lot of fun and plan to return sometime soon! Thanks for a wonderful time OIN.

Thank you so much for taking time to offer us your feedback about your recent stay at our property. We do value our guests input. It is rewarding to know that you had a wonderful time at our property. You mentioned a few area that I would like to address. The WiFI - yes, sometimes this can be, as you stated ''buggy''. We are continuously working with our I T team to find ways to improve this. However, sometimes technology does get the best of us. One person will have great success with the wireless system while another has none. Still, we thank you for bringing this to our attention. You also mentioned that you were able to hear the conversations from the room next to yours. We apologize for this inconvenience. We would have more than happy to offer you accommodations in another room if this had been brought to our attention. Lastly you mentioned that you failed to see wheelchair accessibility. Rest assured that we are accessible. There is a ramp located on the east side of our building next to the handicapped parking that comes up to the elevator area. Once again, thank you for sharing your comments with us. We are glad that you had an enjoyable time with us and we hope to have you with us again soon!

“The good and the bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

The good..Outdoor pool clean and nice. Indoor heated pool clean and nice. Hot tub clean, nice, hot, enjoyable. Beds comfortable and clean. Dorm size refrigerator worked great. Air conditioning and heat worked good. Nice Flat Screen TV. Balcony nice. Two plastic chairs and small end table. Service and office workers were prompt, friendly, courteous, informative.
Very quite. Good access to beach. Close to pier. Food at the pier was good. Offers 2 ice machines, 2 drink machines, 1 snack machine on office floor.

The bad. Tile floors in bedroom dirty. You could see the grout was white like under the sink then BLACK everywhere else. Microwave was in same cabinet as TV and was only knee high-VERY inconvenient. Door to balcony was nearly impossible to open and close because knob was hard to turn. Small unit window but you could still see the ocean laying on the bed. Inconvenient building structure. The Inn consisted of several buildings. You had to take the one elevator behind the office up to your floor. Then to get from building to building you had to open door, step out on small connecting bridge-way, open door to next building. Continue doing this until you got to your building. Otherwise you had to climb steps. This is no ones fault just the way the facilities were built and might be a hardship on some. Parking spaces small but sufficient.

Thank you for taking time to offer us your feedback about your recent stay at our property. We always appreciate hearing what our guests have to say. We are delighted to know that you found so many positive things to point our about our facility and amenities. I will be sure to pass along your comments to the staff. You also mentioned that you felt the tile flooring in the bedrooms was dirty. Our housekeeping staff mops these floors between each guest with a special chemical to assure that they are clean and sanitized. However, as with any flooring, the higher traffic areas do show signs of usage more than areas beneath counters, etc. They are consistently awarded the Gold Star of Excellence for cleanliness. You also mentioned that there is but one centrally located elevator for service to our seven buildings, which are connected by a series of short breezeways between each building. While this is true, our staff is more than happy to accommodate those guests which desire to be closer to the elevator for their convenience. We are also more than happy to assist any guest with their luggage should they need. Still, we are delighted to have your input and hope to have you stay with us again on your next visit to Ocean Isle Beach.

“Good hotel, great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

You can't beat this hotel for an ocean front location. Beautifully situated on First Street just beyond the traffic circle on Ocean Isle Beach. Otherwise, the hotel itself is average. Our room was clean, but definitely worn. They could do some updating like replacing grout in the bathroom and updating fixtures. We wanted a King bed, but had to settle for 2 queens and they were quite uncomfortable, the old springy-type mattresses. There isn't an easy chair in the room, so no place to sit inside and read, for example. The TV was too low in the cabinet to view from the bed. There was only one night table, and that was between the beds. Very plain-jane. The breakfast, which is included, is also nothing more than adequate.

Room Tip: Only get an oceanside room.

Thank you so much for taking time to offer us your comments about your recent stay at our property. We do value our guests input and thoughts. Indeed, our central location on the island is ideal for those that want easy convenience to the nearby attractions and shops. We are glad to know that you found our rooms to be clean. Our housekeeping staff does an excellent job and are often praised for their hard work. Your mention that you found our beds to be uncomfortable to you. We are sorry to hear this. Our beds are new resort quality Quilt-Top mattresses and we have an extremely high guest satisfaction rate with them. Still we realize that each person has their own preference when it comes to bedding. Also, each of our rooms are furnished with 2 chairs at the table as well as two more on the balcony at which guests can sit for reading or other pleasures. We are also pleased to offer a deluxe continental breakfast to all our guests which includes fresh made Belgian waffles, assorted breakfast sandwiches, bagels, muffins, yogurts, fruits as well as coffees, teas and juices. Although it's not a full buffet, the overwhelming majority of our guests are quite pleased with the selections we offer. Still, we hope you had an enjoyable time while visiting our area and we hope we can be of service to you again in the future.
