We enjoyed our stay very much. We were only there for one night as we stopped on Oak Island to spend the night on the way to Myrtle Beach. The location of the Blue Water Motel was wonderful. Right on the waterway and the ocean was only a short walk. The room was very clean. Yes the motel is older and dated but the cleanliness and location was great. And we had friendly, prompt service. I would definitely stay here again.

This motel was more than expected. I is an OLDER motel and shows its wear and tear on the outside in the salt air, however the rooms where VERY clean. I am a picky person when it comes to cleanliness, especially the bathrooms.

Again the motel is older, but clean and it is a great value. The rooms have a small dorm size fridge, microwave and plenty of counter space. Cable television and stand-up showers.

The pool goes to 4ft deep and is very cold. There is a basketball, volleyball, and shuffleboard area. Grills and picnic tables. You can purchase a fishing license right at the marina store and fish off of the bulkhead. If needed, you can rent your pole at the marina shop.

The restaurant that is right outside your door is a great bargain for fresh seafood!

I have already recommended this place to other to stay. I enjoyed not having loud motorcycles and parties going up and down the streets at 3am in the morning.

We just visited for the second time this past weekend. We checked in about 5 minutes before the head boat showed up so we immediately got to see everyone stepping off with the coolers full of fish that they caught. Just as our first visit, we were very happy with the cleanliness of our room. The A.C. is strong and cold. The room has a mini frig. microwave, coffee maker, T.V. with cable, etc. You can see the inter coastal waterway all around the hotel. There is a very nicely maintained lawn with cement benches and tables as well as bar-b-q grills. The yard is fenced along the sea wall and the fence has fishing rod holders all over for our use. It's nice to know my boy is safe from falling in when he is fishing from the motel's yard. The place is definitely set up for the motel guest to enjoy. You can watch the boats coming in and out of the marina and the marina bait store is nice too. Early in the morning the boaters are all out there cast netting bait for the day's fishing. The pool water was as clear and pretty as any pool could be. There were plenty of chairs around too. Each moring I saw the "pool man" out tending to it. There's a great fishing pier a few minutes up the road that we have also visited each time we have gone. It's only $7 to fish if you have your own pole and costs nothing to just walk out and watch others fish. It's called Ocean Crest Pier and daily activity can be viewed on the internet via web cam. It doesn't take but 2 or 3 minutes to walk the board walk that leads right to the ocean. You can see the ocean from the motel. The staff was very friendly. They work hard to make you feel welcome. The motel attracts a nice group of people, from couples to families. Most that I spoke to have been there before and make it a point to come at least once a year. One lady was walking around sharing her home grown cucumbers with everyone as her husband ran the bar-b-q. It's a very relaxing place to go for people who love the water and love to fish. The price is very reasonable and lets you afford to visit more often.

I came down for business. Very affordable. Older motel clean rooms with free ice next to the office and coffee makers and small fridge in the room. Had to cut visit short and the management was very accomodating. Was pleased with the surrondings and the short distance to the beach, peaceful, and relaxing. Would stay again if down that way. No hustle and bustle. Staff very friendly.
