Was sadly disappointed in the Harmony House. We usually stay at another B&B in New Bern and took a chance on changing. Did wait til the week of arrival to book for the last minute discounts. Stayed in the Eliza suite upstairs. Was an average room with a heart shaped jacuzzi tub. The owner was very accomodating when we arrived early, allowing us to check in ahead of regular time. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a little dated and we did have an ant problem which we told the owners about. They cleaned out the bathroom in the afternoon, but ants were back by nightfall.

I had stated on my comment section of my reservation that I am allergic to nuts to please take this into consideration at breakfast. This was not handled very well. I did not say anything at the meal as I felt they should have recognized that and provided accordingly..... cinnamon cake, with nuts in the cinnamon and oats cereal with nuts were not helpful for me. The rest was fine, but we did not feel like we were full upon leaving the table. More like a continental breakfast.

I have to say their beds were very comfortable. My husband and I have recently had knee and back surgery relatively, and we both slept very well!

Overall the property is fine, not upscale to our standards. They state that they are comparable with other B&B's in New Bern, we didn't really find that statement accurate for the one we normally visit. I also had stated in my reservation that we were looking for a switch in B&B's for more economical reasons, to which I thought was an open invitation for them to wine and dine us, knowing that we have returned several times to the area. Just think for some reason they didn't seem to concerned about us. Might have been our age as we look young. But they did seem to cater to another family with small children while we were there. Glad to see that as we also have children and know how much the little things mean when traveling with little ones.

Best part of the property is the location. Easily within walking distance of the historic downtown area. Parking for the B&B is also very accomodating and they were wonderful about allowing us to stay parked until the next afternoon even though we had already checked out.

Very nice room, extremely comfortable, good breakfast and very accommodating for our one year old! Ed was very nice and pointed me to Moore's BBQ, for which I will be eternally grateful. New Bern is an incredibly beautiful small city and well worth a visit. Thanks!

Stayed 3 nights in pleasant and spacious room. Great location within easy walking distance of downtown and Tryon Palace. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Good breakfast and we enjoyed the complementary wine and cheese each evening.

All in all we had a very pleasant weekend in a historic building and would definitely stay there again.

My wife and I stayed at the inn while on a recent business trip. Great hosts, superb location, restauant suggestions were outstanding. Convenient to the quaint downtown area, Tryon Palace, all within walking distance. Evening wine and cheese (with homemade crackers) was a nice treat and the morning breakfast was excellent. We will stay here any time we are in New Bern!
