We are very sorry to hear that these guests did not enjoy their stay at our Inn. The term "sit com 80s" to describe our decor is unusual. We have period antiques, many original Harpers Ferry Weekly Covers depicting the Battle of New Bern, many of Sooki's handmade needlepoint decorating our rooms and hallways, and fine artwork throughout the Inn. Throughout most of April and May, our area does have "May Bugs" which are like flying gnats. These have a life span of 8 hours. We sweep our front porch and guest entrance where they tend to accumulate each morning and evening. Still, it is hard to keep all of them away at all times. We wish the guest had told us at the time of their stay that they did not find the bed comfortable. We have many compliments about our beds, but we do have an extra pad that can be added if the guest prefers a softer mattress. We serve a full breakast with a hot entree, homemade coffee cake, homemade bread, homemade granola and fresh fruit. Of course, we have bacon and real butter on hand for the occassional guest who requests them. These guests did not. Finally, Ed did make an error when he suggested that the guests try a particular restaurant that was closed on Sunday night. It was an honest error and he simply forgot that it was a Sunday night. In the morning when the guests told him, he apologized profusely for the mistake. We are very sorry that these guests did not accept Ed's apology.

We have owned the Inn for 17 years and we have been voted Best B&B in New Bern by local residents for 2009, and several other years . Please read all of the reviews here and you will see that the dissatisfied guests are few and the majority of visitors love our Inn and the service we provide. Thank you.
