We reserved two units 11A/B and 12A/B for a family get-together from 12/24-12/31.
Although the units weren't up-to-date they worked well for us. The furniture and kitchen cabinets looked pretty tired although they were functional. The units were a good size. We did most of our "living" in the A side and really didn't use the B living area except for storage.
Our location was nice. We could walk to the rec center, marina, and the check-in. They weren't short walks, but it was such nice weather it was good to get outside. We took advantage of the miniature golf on Saturday (it was free for Wacky golf) and again on Friday morning. Neither time was it very crowded.
The negatives were:
The "free" wi-fi was very spotty.
Not much sound barrier between floors. We could hear walking and the bed above was quite squeaky.
The table in the A side was pretty small. We had to haul the table from B in so that all of us could eat together.
Lack of storage, ie: not much room in the kitchen to put our groceries. The bedroom closests were also pretty small.
The staff at the check-in were very friendly. They tried to accomodate us eventhough we were a couple of hours early for check in. We were able to check in an hour early. When our washing machine didn't drain we called the office and someone came out very quickly and fixed it. We had no other problems the rest of the week.
We did most of our shopping at WalMart before coming to the resort so that we wouldn't have to make the trip out again in the evening of 12/24. There is a Food Lion that is about 6 miles from the resort that we used several times during the week.
The location was not too bad for a touring base, but then we prefer places that are in a rural setting rather than in the hustle and bustle. We went to the Tryon Palace in New Bern and had lunch at the Cow Cafe which my grandchildren enjoyed. We also went to the aquarium and Fort Mason in Pine Knoll Shores.
