I visited Mount Olive to see the place where my ancestors came from. Since Sleep Inn is really the only game in town, I booked my reservation. The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is clean, quiet, has updated furnishings, free parking and VERY cold air conditioning - much needed in the hot North Carolina summer months. They also offer free internet in the "business center" (a computer located in the hall on the second floor) but it wasn't working when I needed it - though the concierge did try to fix it. The beds were very comfortable but the pillows were a little too squishy for me. TVs have about 25 cable channels (including HBO) but no DVD player. The bathroom was pretty small but did have a shower. The only bad thing were the lotion/shampoo/conditioner freebies. They were way too small to accommodate more than one person (and even one person was a stretch). They offered free breakfast including waffles you make yourself, apple & orange juice, cereal, danishes, yogurt, fruit and little sausage biscuits you heat in the microwave. Really good coffee too. I didn't expect much from a small town hotel, but this was a very nice little place that provided exactly what we needed. I'll remember to bring my own toiletries next time though - LOL.
