“Great Place in NC”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

After a horrible experience staying in a "luxury resort" hotel that was intended to be an extended stay in North Myrtle Beach we made last minute arrangements to stay with a relative in NC. To give our relative a break from our unplanned extended stay with him, we spent a night at the Bryson Inn. No frills, but very well maintained and extra clean hotel was very appreciated. Shops and restaurant was close by. If traveling through NC we would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Further away from truck stop may be quieter, but noise did not bother us.

“Great room at a great price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

We chose this hotel because of the reviews on this site. The room was clean and as expected. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was your typical breakfast with waffles, bagels, cereals, fruit, yogurt and toast. We had dinner at the truck stop next door; the food was good and reasonably priced. The hotel was in a safe area. For the price, cleanliness, friendly staff, you can't beat it. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room on the side without the pool. You can hear the tractor trailers running next...

“Basic, but clean, and consistant.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

I have stayed a the Bryson Inn probably six or eight times over the past 15 years. The owners have done a good job of keeping up the property. The rooms are clean and well maintained. There is a refrigerator in the room, and they've added nice LCD TVs, and easy-to-clean tv remotes, (which tells me they are congnizant of traveler's concerns- sanitation.) And they've added free WiFi.

The breakfast if kind of lacking. I look for protein foods, and in typical American continental breakfast fashion, there is none (packets of homogenized peanut butter don't count.) They do keep a basket of fruit out at all times. Nice.

The hotel location gives easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mount Airy, and Interstate 77.

Overall, a good value. Not the kind of place you want to hang around at all day. But a nice base for exploring the area.

Note- This is a motel, not a hotel (rooms open to an outdoor balconey.) This is not an issue, just thought I'd point it out so there no surprises.)

“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

Close to Mount Airy, Pilot Mountain, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The rooms were very nice and the beds slept great. Stay here if going through northern NC.

“Loved our one night stay !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

A family of 12 (8kids, 4 adults) travelling back to Canada after a week at Disney! We chose this hotel as sort of a mid way point in our travels! We arrived late at night and checked in. We were very pleased with our accomodations and our breakfast the next morning! Staff was very pleasant ! Before leaving the area we drove into Mayberry (Andy Griffith's place of birth)! We had a great time visiting the shops there as well as visiting the local Fire Dept (my husband is a volunteer firefighter here in Canada), so he was able to purchase a t-shirt and get a badge from Mayberry! Loved the area, definitely would stay at this Best Western again in our travels!!
