“Loved our one night stay !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

A family of 12 (8kids, 4 adults) travelling back to Canada after a week at Disney! We chose this hotel as sort of a mid way point in our travels! We arrived late at night and checked in. We were very pleased with our accomodations and our breakfast the next morning! Staff was very pleasant ! Before leaving the area we drove into Mayberry (Andy Griffith's place of birth)! We had a great time visiting the shops there as well as visiting the local Fire Dept (my husband is a volunteer firefighter here in Canada), so he was able to purchase a t-shirt and get a badge from Mayberry! Loved the area, definitely would stay at this Best Western again in our travels!!

“Oustanding - AND at a Low Price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

Super clean and neat right down to the cello-wrapped Q-tips in the bathroom. Big comfortable king-size bed and pillows. The only minor down side was the 18-wheeler which fired up at 3AM close to our room. (My advice: ask for a room on the opposite side of the hotel from where the trucks park.)

“Big room. Decent Value.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

We arrived at the Best Western Bryson Inn in Mt. Airy, NC on 08/15/11 for one night's stay while traveling to NYC. The place had a number of trucks parked in the lot and is adjacent to a farily large truck stop, so we assume it's popular with truckers for a decent night's sleep.

We were booked into Room #231 which was on the 2nd floor in the back of the motel. The room was huge an included a refrigerator an microwave. Bathroom was small with sink & vanity oustide the bathroom door.

The ice machine was inconveniently located by the pool, a substantial walk across the parking lot.

They offer continental breakfast in a small area attached to the lobby and have 24 coffee in the lobby itself.

Even with light occupancy the night we stayed there, the maids were lined up outstide to service our room as soon as we cleared out for an early start.

The accomodations were serviceable and the value was decent.

The description mentions 'resaurant attached,' but it's really a truckstop next door down the hill. There is a sourthern-style diner across the road at the top of another substantial hill (is is MOUNT Airy, after all) as an alternative for meals. The main town is about 4 miles away and has the standard fast food and chain restaurants.

The downtown itself is a delightful little town, which was the birthplace of Andy Griffith and bills itself as "Mayberry." It certainly meets the definition of a friendly, southern town with lots of local souvenir shops, crafts shops, and other sorts of mountain themed stuff available, as well as ubiquitous Mayberry memoabilia. There is still plenty of the "real deal" Mayberry vibe around and a morning walking around proved to be a pleasant experience.

“Very friendly”

My kids loved the out door pool. Staff very accommodating. Wendy was particularly great when we checked in late after traveling all day.

“Nice and clean...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

This hotel was convenient to the interstate. This is not an exceptionally fantastic hotel, but it was clean and quiet. The staff was courteous and the rooms were, again, nothing out of the ordinary, but comfortable.
