“Nice Motel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 November 2011

We stay at this motel on our trips to Holden Beach, North Carolina. It is about 1/2 between Xenia Ohio and Holden Beach. We have stayed at this motel for many years and never have had a bad expierence. It is an older Motel, but is clean and well taken care of. My last stay was in 2009, however, our friends stayed there this year and said it was still very nice. They do have a limited breakfast. Juice, fruit, coffee ect.

“My Stay At The Mayberry Motor Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

One thing that hasn't been mentioned in the other reviews is the space the motel is laid out on. I don't like being confined to a small motel room for hours in the evenings. So to find a nice, very clean motel, with this much SPACE TO WALK around on the lovely landscaped grounds was an added bonus for me.
I stayed there on Nov 8-10, 2011 & my only dissapointment was not getting to see the owner who I had heard was very much like Aunt Bea & actually knew Andy Griffiths mother. I'm sure she would have a lot of local lore to impart if you could ever get to see her.But I'm sure she is older & it is probably hard for her to be around all the time.
It was also hard to get to see the Aunt Bea room as it is not on display all the time. We finally did get to see it, through the window, late one evening.

But none of this takes away from the fact that my stay there was very plesant, had the cleanest bathroom I've ever seen in a motel & I would stay there again anytime I went through that area.

“Time has passed it by”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Yes, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. I never thought I would miss the "FREE" waffle breakfast at the other hotels but I did. The price was high for the off season month of November. The HVAC system was loud for a such a small room.

Considering we traveled to Mt. Airy to visit the Mayberry sites, it was a disappointment when the motel staff would not open the police car and truck for photos. This is a place that time has passed by. It was nice that the rest of Mayberry understood the tourist needs.

Room Tip: If your age and the age of the Motor Inn are similar then this place is for you.

“Great Little "Mom & Pop" Motel”

A friend and I stayed at Mayberry Motor Inn during our visit to Mt. Airy on Nov. 8th and 9th, 2011. We found the room we stayed in, #112, to be very clean. The beds were comfortable, the TV worked just fine and even the alarm clock worked. Their internet service was just fine, too! The furniture was in great shape, almost new! The bathroom was small, as we had asked for a bath with the sink inside the bath area instead of outside in the room, but very clean. The water pressure was good, we never ran out of hot water and the shower head was GREAT!! Wish I had it at home!! Even though Hwy 52 runs right alongside the motel, the traffic didn't bother us. Nothing fancy, but very comfortable. The maid service was great, too! Our beds were made and the bathroom had been cleaned and clean towels put in when we came back from our day on the town. We would definitely go back and we recommend this motel to everyone! Thank You Mayberry Motor Inn!!!!

“Quaint and cozy independent motel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

The room was clean and cozy and better then I expected. The staff were friendly and there was an old lady there who was really sweet and nice to me. I had also noticed that my toe was bleeding and she went out of her way to get me a bandage and quick to impart advice on how to stop the bleeding.
