It would be hard for this hotel to be any closer to the airport without being on the airport property itself. Staff was courteous, especially when advising that area roads would be closing the morning after my arrival to accomodate President Obama's motorcade.
The room was standard-issue Hyatt Place, which is to say spacious and very nice. There was an internet outage the second night I was there, which was a bit irritating. Fortunately, I've got alternative means of connecting but others would have been out of luck. Not sure how frequent this is, but the connection was fine for the remainder of my stay.
I was traveling with a colleague who had never before been to a Hyatt Place. It was interesting to hear his reactions. He was blown away by the room and general ambience. His impression of the free breakfast, however, was less than stellar. (This property features the standard HP breakfast -- identical to what you'll find across the chain.)
If they only offered a paid breakfast, like Courtyard and HGI, he'd have understood. He's stayed at those chains before and understands how they work. Similarly, he's stayed at many Hampton Inns where all breakfast items are free. But he'd never before encountered a mix of free and paid-for items like the HP offers. He didn't like it. He thought the free items were too limited but made do with them since he didn't want to pay for something more-substantial.
I think Hyatt would better meet the expectations of first-time guests if they either made all of their breakfast offerings available for free or charged for everything. The mix between the two leads to confusion and disappointment
Room Tip: Our room with two double beds seemed especially spacious. Not sure if all are bigger than king rooms...
