My husband and I pass through this area often en route to RDU airport, so we have stayed at several hotels in the area. This was our first time at Fairfield and we had a good experience. The hotel is super convenient and offers a free airport shuttle. The room we had was an executive king and quite nice. Although I had to call for maintenance help because one light and the coffee maker didn't work, Jesus was fast, friendly, and efficient and soon had everything in working order. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable.
My biggest disappointment is that I reserved this hotel especially because of its indoor pool and jacuzzi. I distinctly asked if these two things were working/available and was told yes. When I looked into the pool area upon arrival, the first thing I saw was a cord around the jacuzzi area and the announcement that it was "out of order." The receptionist seemed to know nothing whatsoever about the situation or to really care. It was Jesus who told me that the motor was defective and that it wouldn't be fixed until the next week. I know that these things happen anywhere, but since this had apparently been the case when I made the reservation, I'm not sure why no one told me at that time.
The breakfast was a step above the usual hotel continental breakfast fare. Besides the breads and make your own waffles, there was French toasts, prepared breakfast sandwiches to heat in the microwave, a variety of fresh and prepared fruits, etc. The breakfast area was bright and pleasant, and Mike was constantly in motion bringing more food.
Overall our stay was a good one and good value for the money. We would come back again.
