The front staff (believe his name was Eric) on arriving was pleasant. He gave me a room with a view of the pool and said it should be quiet. The weather was warm during the day so people stood outside their rooms or sat by the pool and talked rather loudly until it started to rain at about 9 pm. Then it was quiet outside. It was cool at night, so I turned on the heater in my room. It came on and went off throughout the night. Sounded like a slightly muffled vacuum cleaner starting and restarting. I don't remember this problem during the summer months , but I usually bring a fan to drown out the noise.

The upside - Since my last visit they have brightened up the rooms with gold bedspreads. This helps since the carpet, curtains and furniture are dark green. I usually stay on the outside block of rooms and it is usually much quietier. I have tried the other hotels in town and the only place better is the Hampton Inn which is quiet nice, but about 30% more expensive. The room was clean and had free wi-fi.

I was with my sister and have never been to morganton before and i have to say this is a beautiful area. The hotel was amazing too. Very clean, Amazing front desk staff. The only problem we had really wasn't anyone at the hotels fault but actually another guests fault. We were checking in about 1pm or so and another guest had come to the front while we were checking in and had procceed to scream at the front desk for not giving him lunch. I really have no idea what it was about but the front desk clerk was very professional and honestly i dont know how she kept her patience with him but she did and she turned to us and was completely polite. I felt so bad for her but i have to say this is an awesome hotel and awesome staff. Definetly 5 stars to me.

I stayed here after checking out of Sleep Inn next door (soft beds and SMALL rooms) and The Comfort Inn off Exit 103 - bad customer service and a/c set to go no lower than 73.

This Quality Inn, is run well. Good breakfast bar, nice pool, and the maids did a great job cleaning my room - the 3 days I was there. Put everything away for, lined up my shoes. Well beyond anything I expected. Good nights sleep.

The Quality Inn in Morganton is convenient, but a fairly standard hotel. Check in took place at the front, next to the bar, which had a very loud country band playing... lots of people hanging out in front of the bar smoking when we walked in. Desk clerk was perfectly lovely and placed us in a room around the side, where we could hear nothing from the bar. The room and bathroom was clean and well kept.

Beds were pretty atrocious, however.. hard and uncomfortable.

There is a fabulous Mexican restaurant just down the street, so late dinner was quite convenient.

All in all, as expected.. nothing spectacular, but nothing bad either. It was an acceptable stop over on our way to the mountains.

Oh.. continental breakfast the next morning was fine... yogurt, banana nut muffins, fruit, hot coffee or hot chocolate... etc...
