This hotel is nowhere near a two star. I would expect a comfortable no-frills stay at a two-star hotel.

This hotel was suspect upon arrival. The room looked like it had new carpet put in, but the new ceiling left residue all over the carpet. The drawers in the dresser had stains in the bottoms. The sink sprayed everywhere, the toilet had a problem with the chain that needed attention after each flush, and the tub had a constant drip.

The bathroom was not clean with a little trash on the floor and the door to the bathroom was missing the bottom hinge. There was a 20-year old microwave placed on the sink, which didn't seem very safe.

After this experience, I will never stay at a Red Carpet Inn again. I stayed here based on Expedia's two-star rating. I don't feel they even deserve one star. I hope all two-star motels are not this bad. I normally stay at Hampton Inn.

On 6/6/06 and 6/7/06 I had the "pleasure" of staying in room 212. At the Morganton,NC Red Carpet Bush Drive. I am a Mecklenburg County Building Inspector. I was quoted a price weeks before my stay and reserved a room. When I got to the Inn I was told that it was their policy to have the customer pay in advance, stating they had some people leave with out paying. The Room price stayed the same but the credit card I was using was charged $10.00 more than the room charges. I can only assume it was for some fee not listed. I have not been able to resolve the matter as of 6/28/2006 and my finance office has not been able to get a response either. The room had been cleaned, but it was appearent there had been a prior roof leak that had damaged the floor, the floor creaked and was buckeled under the carpet.
Summary The stay was not good, the service was / is deplorable and they appear to be unresponsive. I am not able to recieve the moneys due me from Mecklenburg County untill the matter is resolved. My advice do not stay at this Inn.
