When I deliberately book budget-class accommodations, I don't expect much. But especially in today's competitive tourist market, I expect my money's worth. I did not receive that at the Plaza Inn. Check-in was somewhat challenging as the proverbial plexiglass window did not allow effective communication with the clerk (even though it was before 10 pm in a good area). Rooms were what I expected them to be, but both were in need of minor maintenance (burnt out lights, water faucets about to fall off). Neither was exceptionally clean; one bed had some sort of grease streak under the pillows. The advertised continental breakfast consisted of stale coffee and two grocery store brownies, hardly adequate to begin with let alone for the group of six whose lodging I paid for. Stay elsewhere...the few dollars more you'll spend across the highway will be worth it.
