I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Morehead City, NC for the night of October 29th, 2011 in room 436 with my wife and two young kids. Perhaps we didn't have particularly high expectations but the stay was fantastic. The lobby had complimentary hot coffee and condiments; the rooms had free wifi (though the bandwidth wasn't high enough to stream Netflix movies at high resolutions) and wired connections, plenty of power outlets, soft fluffy towels, complimentary soaps, shampoos, conditioner, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, king (or maybe queen?) sized sofa bed and a TV for each room (there was a dividing wall (without a door) between the rooms). I don't, however, recall seeing an in-room safe. There was an outdoor pool which we did not use due to the cool weather and what looked like a relatively large workout room. I seem to recall seeing a business center but didn't use it. The free breakfast buffett was one of the better ones I'd seen: it had ham and eggs (separate) for the hot food, ready to cook yourself waffles, as well as your standard pastries, bagels, breads, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, milk and juice (and coffee out in the lobby). The hotel was about a < 10 minute drive from Beaufort, where we were visiting the Maritime museum (very good by the way) specifically for their Black Beard/Queen Anne's revenge exhibit. The room also had an AC/heater for each room which probably made it more pleasant. The lamps all seemed to be the CFL bulbs which didn't bother me, but also had outlets on the base of each lamp for easy access to power. The bed seemed to be relatively new and free of divots on either side. Overall, this was a great stay...I'm only afraid that because this seems like a newly renovated hotel with new management, the quality we experienced might go downhill, but time will tell. I would definitely stay here again.
