Excellent service and the clean comfort inn of Marion NC

My husband and I were able to get away for Labor Day weekend and decided to stay in Marion, since it is not far from Boone or Asheville. We had stayed there a couple of times in years past and had always been very impressed with how clean it was and how friendly the staff was. It did not disappoint this time, either! We were greeted at the desk by the clerk (I think her name was Deborah) and we chatted awhile. We asked for suggestions on where to eat and she recommended FATZ for what we wanted. We wound up getting comped for dessert since it was our anniversary and had a wonderful meal, too. The motel room was very clean and spacious. We had a regular king bed. It was cleaned thoroughly every day. The breakfast bar was very good....have never been to one that offered two flavors of waffles!! The coffee was very good as well...usually I have found the coffee not to be that great at places we have stayed, but this was good and was readily available for us. We took one day and rode up toward Boone to hike at Linville Falls and then circled through Boone and Blowing Rock. The next day we went into Asheville to spend the day with friends. Marion was a very good location for doing both. It is also a very friendly town...everywhere we went, people were very welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend the Comfort Inn if you are staying in Marion. It is a little ways off of I-40 but not too far. The only drawback is that there is no elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs, you would want to request a first floor room.

we actually visited here back last April (but i can't date it back that far) it was our second time staying in this hotel. we returned for our first anniversary. many may think what in the world, Comfort Inn in Marion, NC but it was our first trip we took together as a couple when we were dating and wanted to return so we could visit Linville Falls. the rooms were the same both times we stayed. we got the king suite with sitting area and jacuzzi tub. it was very clean and quiet. the front desk was nice as well. just passing through for an overnight or even weekend stay to visit the falls or area it is very nice. not the Ritz in downtown Charlotte mind you, where we frequent often, but still it's a very nice quaint area. we may actually return again in a few months when the leaves start to change so we can visit the falls and drive the parkway just to get some couple time before our third child arrives in march.

Great little place to stay if you are on a budget. The woman who checked us in gave us a lot of recommendations for dinner and attractions. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The pool/hot tub were a nice touch. NO elevator for the 2nd floor, so keep that in mind when booking a room.
