“Wonderful Place to stay.”

I spent 4 nights at this hotel recently. My room was clean, and the maid staff did very well at keeping it that way. Everything worked in the room, and there is a video store in the lobby where you can rent free videos, great selection. There are rocking chairs on the front balcony, which I thought was nice. I would stay here again, no doubt.

“Older motel, but very clean room and friendly staff”

We stayed at Castlewood for 3 nights while in the area for a family reunion. This was our first visit to Castlewood, but will not be the last. Very clean rooms with a nice little refrigerator and microwave. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the room clean and well stocked with towels, etc. In room coffeemaker was nice; however, cannot recommend the coffee supplied with it, not very tasty at all. Continental breakfast selection was o.k. Coffee was definitely better and o.j. was also pretty good. Convenient central location within walking distance of shopping, shows and restaurants. With the internet special offered, very good value for the money.

“Very Clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2009

We stayed at the Castlewood Inn over MLK weekend. The rooms were very clean, and the facility was well kept.

The free breakfast was okay, one cereal selection, packets of oatmeal and grits, waffle maker, and bread/bagels.

The staff was very helpful - it was the coldest the area had seen in a long time, and we had several weather related issues, but the owner was working past midnight to resolve them.

The breakfast area (office) did smell like it had been smoked in (the owner's apartment was attached, maybe that is where the smoke originated) and we would have liked a hot tub (they have one, but it's "seasonal") but overall, for what we got, it was a good value for the money.

I was also pleasantly surprised to learn they didn't jack their rates up for the holiday weekend - many of the hotels along the road have teaser rates posted.
