“Great Place to and from Florida”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I wasn't expecting this Hampton to be on a par with other Hampton Inns, but I was wrong. There is a section of rooms with inside entrances, so be sure to request it when you check in. The hotel is comfortable, and Matt at the front desk made us feel very welcomed after a long day driving from Florida. He even had cookies at the front desk, which I rarely find on the weekend at most hotels. Great customer service. Nice Internet connection and computer to use in business center. I'd definitely stay here again. You cannot beat Hampton Inn's 100% guarantee.

Room Tip: Request a room with an inside entrance.

“Great One Night Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We stopped at the Hampton Inn in Lumberton as a one night stopover when driving from Northern Virginia to Central Florida. The first floor room was clean and very nicely appointed. The staff was friendly and the waffles for breakfast were delicious. Other than being a bit pricier than our usual Best Western - it was a great experience.

“Always my midpoint stop on my trips to Florida”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

I always stop at the Lumberton Hampton In on my way to Florida. It's definataly an older motel. The rooms open onto a balconey or a stoop like the old days. The rooms are clean and the breakfast at par with other Hamptons I have been at.

“Perfect Place to Break up the Trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We are first time snow birders and stopped here on our way south. Short distance from the I95 exit ramp.

Nice greeting on arrival, room was spacious and clean and beds comfortable. Very good buffet breakfast and the free cookies were tasty.

“A Bit Worn Around the Edges”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

people found this review helpful

I'm a real fan of Hamptons, and this one is "almost" up to usual Hampton standards: the furniture is the same, the big HD TV is nice, the bed is great, the staff is extremely friendly, the free breakfast features the same baked eggs and DIY waffles as everywhere else. BUT...it's an old building with NO elevator, the HVAC unit is loud, and the renovations were sloppy with bad painting and caulking around the edges. There are 17 hotels near Lumberton, most of which are $25 cheaper. At $95 this Hampton is over priced.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the ground floor
