I had a very short, but wonderful time at the Wolfpit.
The owner is such a delightful and hospitable hostess! She was so helpful! And she made me feel right at home! She has such a nice balance of creating a space where there is privacy and quiet and yet she is happy and ready to talk about all the many things there that piqued my interest about the house. I had such a dreamy sleep on the 4-poster, nestled in down pillows and comforter and soft, very soft sheets. And all the things I might need or wish I had from home, she had already thought of! The decor is tasteful and steeped in history. You can feel the love in the house and the love for the house. There was nothing frilly and no popourri!, which I was grateful for. Simple elegance. I loved my hot bath! It was a very chilly night, and I slept deeply in such a cozy state.
I did not get to explore the grounds, though she encouaraged me to the next morning, a pond and a little trail. Her horticultural projects will make it very pleasant experience this spring and summer.
Oh, I didn't mention breakfast! I had so much fun sitting by the fireplace. She set up delicious choices, like pear preserves,mmm.mmm. (The tes was fun!) Nice music.
I hope to go back sometime!
All this, why would ANYONE stay at one of the sterile box motels on the strip?
(Did I mention the lovely old wood floors? And big trees.) Good energy all of it! Go stay there!
Oh, and there's WIFI there for those who think B&B's don't have that!
