“Fabulous..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

My husband and I stayed at the Gable Haus for 3 nights over Christmas. We stayed in the Avery Cottage. The breakfast both mornings was fabulous. The Nutella Crepes were outstanding! Norma and Eric have really done a great job of overhauling the house and cottages. Remodeling, rearranging and furnishing everything very effectively. Our stay was very relaxing and we wouldnt stay anywhere else..we are already making plans for a visit in the spring!

Room Tip: we love the seclusion of the cottages...and the king size bed:)

“Very Much Enjoyed our Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

By reading most of the negative reviews posted, one may not notice that Gable Haus is now owned and operated by new owners. Our trip to the Gable Haus was a bit more recent, on the evening of December 10, 2011. My wife and I spent a weekend in the "high country" as part of our getway from our native Asheville. We stayed in "Helen's Haven" cottage and were very pleased with the accomodations. The owners were very pleasant and warm in their welcome to us. The following morning, we enjoyed a wondefully prepared breakfast, followed by a wonderfully long conversation with the owners tableside. Had it not been for the fact that we needed to head back to Asheville by 11 am, I am sure we would spent a few more hours chatting with them. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be staying again in the future. Thank you for the wonderful experience and best wishes to you both until we see you again.

“Cosy B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gable Haus Inn. Our bedroom was cosy but we had everything we need, The hospitality was excellent with the offer of a glass of wine as we walked through the door, and Eric very helpfully came out into the rain to help me carrying our cases. The breakfast was excellent and served in a really nice diningroom. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is very nearby, and Grandfather Mountain is also very close.

“Quaint Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

The Gable Haus Country Inn and Linville Cottages is a nice, away from it all B&B. The Innkeepers make the place, however. I was made homemade granola that was out of this world good, by Nora when my husband and I told them we were going to Grandfather Mountain to hike. Eric makes outstanding breakfast and espresso, if you like it. Otherwise, the coffee is some of the best I've ever had, and I'm a coffee snob! Its a great place close to Blowing Rock and right at Grandfather Mountain and Linville Falls - all Must-See places!

“Cozy, charming, and a great location”

I just spent several days in the high country of North Carolina. I was so fortunate to stay at Gable Haus. The location was ideal - central to Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Sugar and Beech mountains, and the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. Gable Haus is located in the arts district of the village of Linville. It is a easy stroll to the Old Hampton Store, the Arts Council, and galleries. Great hiking, and good fishing streams are close by as well as first class ski resorts. The Haus itself is a charming farm house with cottages. The gardens are beautiful and peaceful. The comfy rocking chairs on the front porch are not to be missed. The decor is beautful, warm and cozy and the rooms are clean, welcoming, and well appointed. The owners, Norma and Eric, are fantastic hosts. They are there to attend to your every need but are very considerate and sensitive to personal privacy. The full breakfast was served in the inviting dining room. It was healthy and delicious. They have some of the best coffee I have ever tasted.
If you are in the high country, this is the place to stay!
