We chose to stay at the Palm Air Cottages after reading the reviews here. We wanted to go the coast for a long weekend and we have a reciprocal membership that would allow us to visit the NC Aquarium for free, so we chose Kure Beach as the destination for our family of four: mom, dad, 4 yr-old, and 9 mo-old. I called Palm Air to check availability and Anne, the innkeeper, was so friendly, informative, and funny. We talked about rates and she took my details over the phone, then emailed a confirmation and an agreement form that we just needed to sign and bring with us. When we arrived, she greeted us right in the parking lot and pointed out our parking place at cottage #1 then welcomed me with a hug! I must look like the tired mom I am! :) The cottage was perfectly clean and cute. Our 3-day stay was spent enjoying the pool (the 2 ft. depth was right for my non-swimming pre-schooler), the ocean right across the way, the pier within walking distance, and a great playground just around the corner. The other families staying there had both stayed there before and said they loved it. Chatting with them in the pool made it feel like we had joined a casual, no-expectations community of sorts. My pre-schooler enjoyed the screened porch on our cottage and also discovering little things in the "courtyard:" the tree faces, the mermaid art, the wee statues, the spray hose (for washing off sand outside) that sounded like a duck if you turned the water pressure way down. I appreciated the clear signage in the cottage and the obvious thoughfulness and organziation of the owners. Really delightful little set-up! Wireless internet was right on. Appliances and water were just right. All in all, it was just what I had expected after reading the glowing reviews and I'm glad to add my own to the roseter. We will be back to Kure Beach and we will stay at Palm Air Cottages.
