My husband and I were able to switch our work schedules to accomodate a quick 3 day trip to the Outer Banks. We usually stay in a rental cottage when we go for a week, however, renting a cottage for just three days is almost impossible. We are not big fans of chain hotels, so after some searching, I stumbled across the website for Beach Haven and I am so glad I did! The housekeeper gave us the grand tour when we arrived. They have a shed packed full of beach supplies and ice that you pay for using the "honor code" and she also gave us a tour of some of the other rooms. We arrived early, so she gave us a choice of which room we wanted (we reserved a Deluxe room, there are two to chose from). We chose the room on the end for a little more privacy. There is a hammock, a deck with a patio set, a raised sundeck, and a lush lawn on site if you want to relax outside. It is directly across the street from the beach, with no other hotels or cottages to block the view. If you like seafood, Carolina Seafood, which has an amazing buffet, is maybe 2 miles away. We cannot wait to schedule our next impromptu visit to Beach Haven!!!
