Just finished 3 days in a 3-bedroom cottage. While an older motel, the Cavalier has plenty of updates…and it was spotless. Shower a little tight for the over-abundant figures, but then people were smaller decades ago. Large table where we four gals hunkered down over a jigsaw puzzle while winds howled outside. I have stayed here many times in every configuration except the 2-bedroom cottage and have had no complaints. The oceanfront rooms and efficiencies are literally on the ocean, with comfortable chairs on the covered porch where you can watch the world (and the pelicans) go by. When you travel solo, their economy rooms are ideal. Pool and play area for the kiddies, too. Port O’ Call Restaurant across the street and a great deli less than a block away.

Great old motel right on the beach. My family has been vacationing on the outer banks for 15 years, we always spend way to much on a beach house. this was so nice right on the beach we got an ocean front room, we could lay in bed and watch the sun come up. Staff was very helpful and polite, rooms were spotless clean! price was perfect. the regulars treated us like family, we hope to be regulars from now on!

Needed an inexpensive place to stay for a weekend wedding,everything the reviews said and more. We had the economy room and the bathroom TINY! With that being said, it was the economy room but everything very clean and neat. Will go for the oceanfront next time. Staff friendly and we were treated like old friends. Even other visitors there were friendly.Will plan again for a longer stay. Great cozy old fashioned place.

I just wanted to write a review because it was because of the reviews on here why we stayed at the Cavalier Motel. First of all - I would stay there again. As you will read the reviews - the place is older. The fridge was rusty. The room smelled a little musty when we first went in. The mirrors peeling. The bedding was clean. The towels are very thin and cheap. I would bring my own towels next time. Although they will change your towels every day. The bathmat is a piece of paper. It was weird and gets gross if more than one person were to shower and also creates a lot of waste.
The tv is old and small but worked. The door was loose and thin. But it had an extra lock so I felt it was ok. The office does have coffee but not until 8 am which most of the time we are up and out by then. We asked for more pillows and were given more.
The place was clean. Just not the Days Inn. But like I said in the beginning, I would stay here again. The price was excellent.
