2 of us (with 2 dogs) had a pleasant stay in a 2-bedroom cottage in late September which is considered off-season. The rooms are clean and it seems that the carpets were shampooed before we moved in. We did not make our reservations early enough so we had to spend overnight in 1 cottage and move to a different one for the rest of our stay. It was OK, as the 2 cottages are right next to each other. It seems that some cottages have more updates than others (e.g., newer fridge and stove).
The kitchen came with a few pots and pans, 1 cookie sheet, flatware, knives, mugs, glasses. If you want to do a lot of cooking (which we did--lots of fresh seafood from a local store--Austin's), bring condiments like salt, pepper, cooking oil and a good scouring pad for clean-up.
An ocean-front room is the best but only the cottages, which face the courtyard and outdoor pool, allow pets. This is not so bad as the ocean is only a few steps away. The property's website has a map which shows where the units are located relative to the ocean.
I would not mind returning to this motel. The staff is friendly and helpful. Although many guests brought their dogs along, I did not have any problem with loud barking at night or early morning.
