“An Imporoved Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

I've stayed at this Econo Lodge previously, while driving down I-95 in North Carolina. It's been over a year since my last visit -- but the improvements are obvious.

Rooms are cleaner. The bathrooms have been redone and have a more moder, up-scale feel. Best of all: You're not stying next to the noisy truck stops one exit to the south.

If you're just looking to get off I-95 for a night, or staying in Johnston County for some odd reason for a couple days, you won't find much better in Kenly. The microfridge and expanded TV listings are an added bonus.

And the best advice I can offer: Eat at Nik's Pizza (actually a Greek restaurant) directly across the street in the Food Lion shopping center.

“Would recommend my mother stay here!”

My wife and I were traveling from PA., to FL., on vacation.
We checked a nearby, national chain motel, and found a one night stay to be $79 plus tax.
Called Econo Lodge and spoke with Tammy (I think) who quoted me a $46 (or so) price.
My wife and I chose the Econo Lodge. And were we glad!
Wonderful, clean room- complete with fridge, micro and all. Top of with great service!
Only request would be in room coffee maker.
Thanks Econo Lodge of Kenly!

“grody”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2010

I stayed here as a place to rest my head for a night while traveling on I-95. Let me just say, it was gross. The carpet felt moist, there were stains on the sheets, the mattress looked like it was 30 years old. I didn't even sleep under the blanket because it felt nasty. The tv remote was broken and the tv itself had bad reception. It was only $50 a night, but I would have much rather paid a little extra for a newer, cleaner place. Stay in Fayetteville if you have to stop somewhere close, there is a bigger selection with nicer places.

“Horrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2010

I travel all the month of july on the east coast of the USA and it really the worst motel i slept during all my holiday. Almost everything was bad there. the manager forgot to start the AC so when we arrived in the evening it was horribly hot in the room and the very old Air conditionner couldn't do a great job with so much heat inside all the room. we called the front desk and the girl came to check and refuse to change us of room and told us: you know honey, we had 100 degree outside today, it's normal that's hot inside.... maybe but if she started the AC as she suppose to do it before our arrivieng it could be much colder inside!! the woman at the check-in was very impolite and all, during the time me and my husband did our check-in, she was in the same time on the phone with an another customer... so you never known if she spoke to you or to the person on the phone... the bathroon was very unclean: 2-3 stain of ''pee'' on the toilet and hair in the bath, and the toilet was always broken because the chain of the toilet flush was broken!!! my husband had to replace it inside the top of the toilet two time in one night!! totally dissapointed about our stay at this hotel and one word: NEVER again at this motel! I already pay the same price in another hotel and it was very much better and pleasant. and the free internet work very slow... the only things who was not so bad was the mattress is confortable and the breakfast with the wafle station is ok...but not top!
believe me you really can find better somewhere else for the same price, i'm pretty sure of that!!

“Clean carpet, thank you!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2010

Fancy is not important to me - cleanliness is. I stopped at 4 other motels at this and other exits before choosing this one. All the others had dirty carpets (most do, don't they?), stained pillows - ugh. Yes, i look the rooms over before paying, mainly because i need a room for the handicapped, and check to see if it will do, but now i'm into checking the pillows and bedding as well. This one was the cleanest in appearance and smelled good upon entering. There was highway noise, but the air conditioning drowned it out. Will use it again if the timing of my trip works out that way.
