“love this hotel so much, this is our second stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

My husband had business in the area so we combined a family trip with a business trip. We have a 7 month old goldendoodle and this was our first time traveling with her. We got a wonderful room on the first floor and the pet fee for 4 nights is 50.00- 5 nights and over is 100.00. The staff is so welcoming and with breakfast and dinner included, you can't go wrong.

Room Tip: tell them if you have a dog. we got room 127. end unit and lots of grass outside for walking the dog...

“Quite Nice -- But Average for a Residence Inn”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

A highlight was the breakfast and the hospitality of the dining room staff.

Downside is location -- a mile off the interstate. I would choose a hotel closer to I-77 next time, particularly considering the following other downsides.

We had a room booked for four people but there were only three sets of towels in the room. There were stains on the carpet and on the sofa and scuffs on the wall.

It does seem like an excellent business practice to surprise and delight guests with a free upgrade when possible. It was certainly possible on the night we visited -- the hotel was almost empty. But we were not offered an upgrade. The sofa bed was uncomfortable.

Security is good -- they keep the outside doors locked. (Some hotels have locks but don't use them.)

This was an average Residence Inn -- not one of the nicer ones such as at Easton Towne Center in Columbus or near the Capitol in Washington, DC.

“Residence Inn Birkdale”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

This is a great location close to Lake Norman and Birkdale shopping. It's very quiet just off Highway 73 and I-77. Everything is standard Residence Inn as far as the rooms, breakfast, etc...

“even better than before”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2011

Again, I traveled to this locale with my grandson, who is now twelve. We located here to be close to all the NASCAR attractions and to tour the area for five days.
We were greeted upon arrival by the wonderful personnel at the front desk; as well as Cynthia (dining staff) whom we had met last year; and consider a new friend.
We checked into our room and found everything spotless. Though the hotel was filled to capacity; we never heard noise the entire visit.
Each and every person at the hotel were like family to us, inquiring as to what adventures we had experienced each day.
As for security, we felt as safe as in our own home. It is a wonderful place located in a financial district.
This hotel is located very conveniently to a Lowe's Grocery, a top notch shopping area, and manhy restaurants.
I cannot say enough good things about each and every member of the staff and management.
There are newer hotels in the vacinity--but we would never think of staying anywhere but this hotel. This Marriott has been renovated and kept spotless. We are already planning our week for next year.
The food is wonderful thanks to Cynthia, Minnie, Rodney, and Donald.
You won't be sorry that you select this hotel while traveling in this area.
