“Its tired and seen its day”

A large old house set on a equally large lot on a tiny quiet street. Thats the good part. Obviously was very nice at one time but has been let go and is now run down. Porch paint is badly worn and peeling. The bedrooms were interesting with a tub in one corner and a open toilet in another. Bedding was thin and worn. There was what looked like black mold around the edge of the wood surrounding the tub. This b&b needs a lot of tender loving care to be brought back to being acceptable. The manager was friendly. It might be ok for someone looking for a less expensive place to sleep but I would not stay again. Shop around, there are other places in the Hendersonville area that are simply better maintained.

“So Relaxing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2008

What a beautiful B&B! We stayed in the Flat Rock Room for 2 nights. Marc is a wonderful host, gourmet cook, musician and gardener. The grounds are just gorgeous and the breakfasts are awesome. Some of the freshest fruits we've had since we visited Italy :) It was so relaxing to just sit on the front porch, watch the birds and play boardgames while listening to Marc sing & play his guitar. We would definitely stay here again!

“Very nice B&B”

My husband and I stayed at the Killarney House Inn as a base to visiting the Asheville area. We were not disappointed. We stayed in the Dogwood room, which is really cozy and comfortable. It has a fireplace (which we didn't use- not cold enough), a small tv, a jacuzzi tub, a queen bed, plus a sink and toilet. The bed was very comfy and we slept very well. The only thing that my husband didn't like about the room was that the toilet is in a corner of the room that is not visible, but has no door. So it doesn't give much in the way of privacy. We got over this quickly though. The house itself is very pretty. Marc, the owner, provided great hospitality. He had cookies and a fully stocked fridge available at all hours (sodas, water, juice). In the morning he made a really great breakfast and everything was fresh and welcoming. He is native to the area and can tell you a lot about what to do, if you need advice. We really thought this was a great value. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the area. The Inn is located in Hendersonville, which is about a 20 minute drive (approx.) from Asheville.

“What a great bed and breakfast!”

I would definitely recommend staying at the Killarney House Inn! Mark, the innkeeper, warmly greeted us upon arrival and assisted us with our bags. We stayed in the Country French Suite and the room was huge. There were two fireplaces-- a fireplace in the room and one in the separate sitting area. The bathroom wasn't as big as others we've stayed in, but the jacuzzi tub (no full shower--only a hand held shower with this room) was soothing after a full day of hiking. We peeked into a couple of the other rooms and all of the suites seemed very spacious as well, including the Annie Patton Suite. Make sure that you read the descriptions of the rooms well if you are looking for a shower, jacuzzi, or shower/tub combination, as the various rooms offer different choices. The breakfast was delicious and there were beverages and homemade cookies around whenever we needed a snack or drink. I would highly recommend this property to anyone coming to the Hendersonville/Asheville area.

“One night at Killarney”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2007

Killarney House is a nice B&B. Marc, the owner, is a good cook and made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms are nice. We had a good time. The home is old and a traveler shouldn't expect elegance.
