A brief overnight stay at the Seagull was awesome. My room was pretty and bright and clean, with nice decor. The hotel is brand new, having been completely rebuilt after Isabel. Every room seems to have a view of the ocean. The office staff was friendly and professional. The pool was very nice. The beach is gorgeous in front of the hotel. And the price was incredibly low for a pretty little oceanfront motel. I loved it!

I had stayed at the Sea Gull back in the first week of September '03. I must say that the rooms were very spacious and very nice! That was the last time I stayed in a motel. Since then, I've tried various small cottages and the such. Mainly because I don't think the Sea Gull is still operating. The last time I heard, Isabel washed it out. I saw a photo of the motel and the only part that was still intact was the brick building of motel rooms nearest to the ocean. Which was the part I stayed in. I have really great photos of the motel before Isabel. I remember there were green climbing frogs everywhere and they would all jump at me when I walked up the stairs.
During our first-time tour of the Outer Banks this past spring, we spent a few nights at the Sea Gull Motel. The owners there were very friendly and informative. We had a very nice, clean upstairs efficiency where we could see the ocean. Really enjoyed sitting out on the deck and feeling the sea breeze, with the ocean only about 75 yards away!
It was also refreshing to stay at a beach where you are not smothered by high rise hotels that cover the skyline. If you want to get away from commercialism, this is the place to go.
