“DO not stay, Vandalism could be done to your property”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

This hotel is not horible, beds were clean, the carpet could of been cleaned some more but... The hallways were disgusting! The real reason I'm writing this review is to save people trouble and time. We stayed here two nights. We parked our truck in the parking lot and when in to our room to sleep for the night. The next morning we saw the windows had been smashed out and they stole cash and a gps (they were not in plain sight they were in the glove box and center console. That night it happened to three other cars not just ours. The not help full man at the desk said it happens all the time!!!!!! And they dont have cameras. Save your self the trouble of filing claims with your insurance agency pick a different hotel. could Happen to you.

“Not Bad, Not bad at all”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2011

I stayed at this hotel on an emergency trip for a funeral. I was short on cash because the trip was unplanned. I usually don't stay at seemingly "questionable" hotels or hotels that have less than a 4 or 5 star customer rating. Well, this time I had to. I also was looking for a pet-friendly hotel since I had my cat with me. This also limited me in my selection. I found that the guy who checked us in was nice enough. Not overly friendly but just fine. The room - well, the carpet definitely has seen better days and needs to be replaced but the room was very nicely sized. I was actually impressed that there was a well-sized table with two chairs to set at and a computer area also with a very comfortable executive-style computer chair to sit at. The bed was relatively comfortable. I never ever ever walk on hotel carpeting with my bare feet, even if it's a $500.00/night room so the carpeting wasn't a big deal to me. It's not like I was planning on eating breakfast or doing yoga on it anyway. Carpeting is for dirty feet - not mouths....lol... The bathroom was clean. The towels need to be replaced just because they're getting worn. The top cover on the bed was tattered in one area on the under side of it that I noticed but MY GOODNESS these are not meant to be used as blankets. They're always for decorative purposes. Just like carpeting, I never sleep with those nasty things on my bed anyway. All in all, I am a very clean and tidy person and I have pretty high standards when it comes to where I lay my head at night and I would definitely recommend that if you are in Goldsboro and you need a decent place to stay for a day or so save yourself a little cash and stay here. : )

“Poor Desk Management Racist”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2009

Upon my check in to this hotel the front desk staff Byron was very rude. He even appeared to be racist by the way he handled my reservation. He refused to call his manager and said he was unavailble. The people from the 1800 number told him they would fax my reservation and he refused to go and get the fax. I would not recommend this hotel it was my family reunion and my family was disappointed that we could not stay together.

“Average”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2009

The motel was close to the event I needed to attend and it served it 's purpose if all you needed was a place to rest for one night. Biggest complaint I had was the heat in the room did not work and it was cold. Since we were out of the room most of the time It was my fault for not complaining but it was cold taking a shower the next morning. The staff was friendly and said they would have given us another room. I did not look at or try the continental breakfast but my son said they did not offer much. The anemities in the room were the usual furnishings and ok. I would stay in a Best Western again but make sure the Heat/Air-Cond. and everything works before going out.

“You could do better...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2009

On our way back to Washington DC from Charleston SC, my wife and I spent one night at the Best Western Goldsboro and were pretty disappointed with the experience.

First of all, the room had clearly not been vacuumed for a while, with crumbs and who knows what on the floor. This made us a bit squeamish, as it makes you question the general cleanliness of the room in general (which seemed okay otherwise).

Second, the hotel is pretty old, which you see immediately once you go into the room. While this isn't a problem in and of itself (I've certainly seen worse), it becomes a major problem when it influences the quality of your stay. This was the case for us due to the horrible quality of our bed, which was so old that we could feel all of the springs poking into our backs all night. Needless to say, this meant a pretty horrible night's sleep.

In short, I would recommend looking elsewhere if you need to crash for a night near Goldsboro. You undoubtedly can do better for the same price.
