“Clean and Confortable, and a God send”

I had a great time i was traveling to Goldsboro, for business, It was a weekend that the hotels were booked to to national guard and reserves, drilling. I took a chance because i had not made a reservation. They had no rooms left but they let me stay on the second floor, which was being renovated. It was one of my best stays anywhere ever. The floor was quiet, the room was clean. The manager had made a concession so that I had a place to stay, and for that I am greatful. I believe the reason they were redoing the second floor is because it used to be smoking and now its non-smoking like the rest of the hotel. the front desk staff was courteous, prompt, and pleasant. the breakfast spread that came free with the room was very good. it was a great value for the money and overall a good stay.

“Excellent service, good value”

Had to come to Goldsboro for a wedding and stayed there. Rooms were a little on the small side (or maybe too much furniture) but the staff was very responsive an friendly. Had an issue with keys not working and had a small room goof (put us in an occupied room by mistake) but they corrected every error quickly with the appropriate response.

Breakfast was very good and filling. It was a very pleasant stay.

“very unprofessional staff/ Mgmt...will never stay here again or refer anyone here!!!”

I use this property alot being that I have family in the goldsboro area but after a recent trip for a funeral I will no longer use or refer anyone to this property. Management is the worst, perhaps the company should reconsider who they have running these hotels. Ive worked as a hotel manager for 5years now and never will I treat anyone with as little understanding as their General Mgr did! I booked 2 rooms at an employee rate however I was unable to arrive before my aunt to check-in and was told over the phone the rate will be honored as long as i brought my employee voucher and id in on that night, which i did. We was still charged over 100$ to basically shower and sleep! Had we known we would have been charged that we would have used a much better property such as the country inn & suites! Usually most people have understanding for things such as this. The mgr and staff was very abrasive, just unpleasant to deal with especially tamicka and pillow. This is only 1 of maybe 3 of the areas hotels that i choose because its in a small town. Overall the property is ok...not the worst but def not the best! The This property will pass for an overnight stay! Im very unpleased with the service and response I recieved being that im a hotel mgr myself. I dont wish for anyone from this property to respond to my review i just wanted to make you aware of how unsatisfied I am! I rated it 2 stars instead of 1 because of the recent renovations which makes it more appealing then before, however If you choose to stay in the Goldsboro area I would suggest trying the country inn, jameson inn, or the hampton inn*which is owned by the same company as this one*

“Will Not Stay Here Again”

My husband and I stayed here for 8 night while we were house hunting in Goldsboro. The hotel wasn't the worst I've ever seen, but it was the least unpleasant Holiday Inn Express I've even stayed at. The elevators were scary creaky, the halls were musty. There were a few days during our stay when the parking lot was unavailable due to repaving, which was incredibly inconvenient with a U-haul. There was a group of men hanging outside the door near the laundry facility almost every night we were there. They were constantly drinking and on one occasion they took it upon themselves to yell at my 14 year old. So that is the kind of company you can expect to keep at this place. I had to call maintenance up to my room twice to fix a bed that was falling off the frame. The first guy did as much as he could with what he had, but the bed shifted again during the night and actually cut my kid's foot open, and then mine the next day. I told the front desk lady, who appeared to be a manager, about the problem , and she said she would have it taken care of, but no one showed up to look at it until I had asked about the same problem two more times. The second attempt at fixing the bed was a little more thorough, but still ineffective since the frame was broken and that was what was causing the problem. The maintenance lady turned the frame so that the sharp part was at least facing the wall, but the bed was still uneven and wobbly. Since the military was paying I didn't feel I had the right to demand a room change, but if i had been shelling out my money for it, I would have asked for a new room, the first night. I was severely disappointed in this hotel, since I'd stayed at a Holiday Inn a few nights before in Little Rock and it was exactly what I would ask for in a hotel. Also I feel it's worth noting that there were a few cleaning ladies that were not very nice, I caught a few of them rolling thier eyes and scoffing if I walked across the floor they were cleaning, which happened often, since I was there 8 days and they were always mopping the same bit of tile, so often that lobby permanently smelled like the cleaning fluid. Smelled nice, but that seemed like a lot of over cleaning in one area and they totally gave up on cleaning my room after the first day. I had to ask the lady at the front desk to notify the maids that my room needed cleaning, which I thought was a standard feature of hotels? The Desk girl assured me that the maid would clean at 1400 daily for the stay-overs, and yet the room wasn't cleaned once after that. Granted that the maids knocked on the door daily and said "You don't want you room cleaned, do you?" and then acted like I was a pain in their butt when I asked to at least have my towels replaced. Overall I didn't like the service I received here, I work in the service industry and I treat all my customers like they own the place, and that's how I expect to be treated when I'm paying someone else for a service, I will never stay here again, and I'm weary about any other Holiday Inn Express if the service is going to vary so widely.
