I am a seasoned traveller (just take a look at my other reviews) and Extended Stay would certiainly NOT my preferred accommodation anyways, BUT ....we had a hurricane coming our way and had to evacuate inland WITH PETS. It was me and my neighbors who booked 4 rooms. Thursday 10 am via 1800 line: 2 nights, pets : no problem. I get there and pets ARE a problem. Manager says, 2 max per room , I put one dog with my neighbor and pay the 25$ per pet per night fee (150$), ,Plus 103 $/night for the room, how they can charge that much for those filthy rooms, I don't know.....Anyhow....Another neighbor calls hotel front desk direct line same day 12pm, ...suddenly it's a 3 night minimum....why? answer: the Hurricane...In my book that 's called PRICE GAUGING and taking advantage of people who are having to evacuate their homes due to a natural disaster. THE ROOM: dirty, smelly, stinks like smoke, shower: does NOT work, bed sheets: eeeuwwww AND a cigarette burn hole !! I request new sheets , they were never delivered. I called 10 am next morning regarding the non-functioning shower: Manager Steph says: I send someone up in an hour, we were gonna be there anyways to fix the lock, it's not working. ' Oh, yeah, that's right, my room door shows a 1 1/2 inch gap between door and frame and does NOT lock right! I told Mgr, that is a strange way to find out, because apparently he had no intention to let me know and I had taken my MOST VALUABLE possessions with me and they were in that room that had NO SAFE. One hour goes by, nobody shows up, I am waiting ....also was not feeling well, called Mgr, ...he immediately had an attitude: You don't need to be there. We will come in with you there or not. I responded , I was not comfortable with that. He responded: you do not have a CHOICE!! ..12 pm, nobody there, I am still waiting in my room, call front desk....stupid excuse, I tell Steph, that I would really like to take a shower now....he says they will be there shorthly ...2 pm: I call Mgr, says the technician wont be there til Monday, plus it's not a big deal regarding the faulty door lock, it was working fine (it was NOT ...there was a 1 1/2 inch GAP between the door and the frame, how safe can this be????) . Ok , so now suddenly it's not a problem any longer. Steph says, he has been looking all morning to put me in another room....(NOT) 3 pm, once again I CALL, not once has front desk made an attempt to contact me. Steph says, no rooms, I tell him: OUR PARKING LOT HAS BEEN ALMOST EMPTY SINCE WE CHECKED IN, and the cars on it are FROM OUR GROUP, how can there be no room? Frustrated, defeated, feeling ill anyways, angry, and tired ....I give up....I tell him that I will take a shower in one of the neighboring rooms (please keep in mind, these are my neighbors and NOT family or close friends) just to feel clean again, I did not think he was ever going to change my rooms for me. THANK GOD I took a shower in room 243, because in 239, the daughter stepped barefoot on a big spider, who carried eggs, and hundreds of little spiders crawled all over the bath tub...nice.....in 243 only the toilet handle broke off.....Oh boy, I could have dealt with the crappy rooms, but... the attitude of the Manager was appalling. I began to wonder if he had run a prison camp prior to running a hotel. Unbelievabele. At one point he literally said: Stop yelling at me (problem was: I wasn't), then.....don't raise your voice (problem was, I wasn't) ...then..If you think this hotel is crap, then leave....I asked him how to contact his Corporate Office, he responded, he doesn't have that number and made a funny 'pfffff' sound and went on to say: 'CORPORATE WON'T DO NOTHING, THEY BACK ME UP 110 % Can you believe he was actually laughing when he said that ????'!!!! I gave up, next day we checked out, I was feeling a bit better and was ready to take this guy on and I was NOT leaving that lobby before I was somewhat compensated for the inconveniences and I made that clear that I would have put a tent up in that lobby if that was not done. And playing hardball works when dealing with rude people, I guess. It was quite a showdown and I should have filmed it. But after tough negotiations and several threats I knocked a whooping 100 bucks of my charge. I will make the time to take this further. Nobody, ABSOLUTELY NOBODY with such poor customer service and non-existent etiquette should run a hotel, whether it's a dump or not. If it wasn't for the fact that it was a last minute evacuation WITH PETS I would have never considered an Extended Stay in first place, but the fact that a BIG HOTEL CHAIN, let's a Prison Ward run their facility, ....is beyond disturbing. Anyhow....read my other reviews, I usually make the best out the worst, but that was just impossible in this place. DO NOT STAY HERE, TAKE MY ADVICE!!!!!!!
