“Pricey but nice..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 August 2011 via mobile

I stayed overnight for a conference I attended. After running errands early that morning and hitting the road, taking a 3 1/2 hr ride I was beat. I arrived at 3:45pm to find out that the room wasn't ready. We waited a half hour in the lobby. Afterwhich we checked into a CLEAN room. Although I think it was overpriced it did offer Free Breakfast (a plus). I'll probably stay there again.

“Very helpful and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

We reached the hotel at the end of a long day, hotel was all that we would expect, clean, comfortable and room well appointed.
Staff were great so friendly, welcoming and helpful and gave a really good impression of the hotel that was maintained throughout the stay right up to check-out and it makes such a difference.
We would certainly use this hotel again the next time we are passing.

“Not the best HIE—Grade B-”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2011

We requested—and received—another room when the first one had a door that flapped and rattled every time somebody walked by. Both rooms had privacy locks that did not work. There was no comfortable seating or work area, just two small chairs at a small round table. A plus was 10 foot ceiling and two windows, but unfortunately the view was the pickup trucks of the denizens of the next-door Day’s Inn. There was no lobby to speak of, just a check in desk. The pool was surrounded by the parking lot.
It was worth your life to cross the street in this suburban location, but we found a great Western diner after this hazardous foray. Breakfast was OK but no meat.

“A clean hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

The hallways were not a updated as we had hoped but the room was clean which is the most important feature for me. The bed was not as comfortable as other Holiday Inns that we have stayed at. Continental breakfast was nicely done.

“Adequate but I wouldn't stay again”

I'm used to staying at nice, more expensive hotels, but since this was a trip that was not planned or budgeted for, I went with this option. I didn't think about how this price of only $80/night would also attract some less than desirable patrons. From 11:30pm-1:30am, it sounded like someone was dribbling a basketball on our ceiling and running across the floor. I didn't want to be that grouchy person, so I didn't complain. It was clean but everything looks old and worn. The hot breakfast the morning we were there was omelets that I wouldn't have touched with a 10ft pole, the bagels were dry and a few days old, but the cinnamon were tasty. The staff was friendlier than any I've encountered during other hotel stays. They chatted us up every chance they got. I was a little put off for the fact that the staff's tattoos were visable on their arms and the manager had on old, worn out jeans. I won't go back. If I ever have to go back to Elizabeth City again, I'll try somewhere with a higher price tag.
