We stayed in this hotel recently and chose it for the price and location. We had a family member who needed testing at UNC. We are over the age of 50 and so we opted for the senior rate of $49. This is a bare bones hotel as several people stated on the reviews. For this type of hotel (being low cost and near a highway) it came close to what we expected. We brought our own old coffee perculator and our own coffee. We knew that no hairdryer was there from previous reviews. Aside from our expectations what we didn't expect was the lumpy mattresses. You either had to sleep in he "ditch" or on the "hump" and the pillows are lumpy too. Since our room had 2 beds, my husband took one and I took the other. I tried the hump first and then decided that the ditch was better. This hotel really needs to replace the mattresses. If a rating of 2 1/2 were available, I would have given it that instead of just 2. IT's somewhere between poor and average. The hotel is average for it's type, the mattresses and pillows are poor. However, it was clean. No dead bugs (mentioned in other reviews). The jury is still out about whether we will use this hotel again or not. You can hear highway traffic, but for $49, the cheapest rate in Chapel Hill that I could find, it was in our budget.
