“There are only two good things about this place...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

The price and the cool staff. We needed a place for several weeks when we were closing on the house. So, we wanted something economical. The room was big with handy kitchen aptly equipped with 1 pot and 1 spoon. We were able to get this for $27/night on Priceline.
Cons:
The place is seriously dated, dingy, and dirty. On the first night, we had to switch rooms after just one hours worth of sleep, my neck was covered with bug bites. The second room was equally as dated and there was decayed dog poop behind the amoire,, but, other than that, it was better. It is not for the faint of heart. You will smell marijuana, see trash bags in the hallway from time to time, and probably hear some teens partying in the hallways.
Tips:
If you must stay here, stay in one of the main buildings. Some of the other wings are really scary.

“My 8th Stay...OUT OF STUDIPITY AND/OR DESPERATION!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2011

Each June since 2004, I've stayed at this hotel while in the area for church activities. Each year, our stay has gotten progressively worse. During my recent stay, we never saw room service. We had to turn in our towels at the front desk and walk to the other side of the building (long walk) to carry out our own trash; which apparently everyone had to do because at least 10 bags of trash were piled in the hallway (same long walk to get ice). The hallways reeked, were dirty (I passed the same crumbled cookie 3 days in a row), and are hot throughout most of the hotel. One of elevators reeked of urine and another, off the lobby, has wires hanging out of it. The kitchens are not stocked with adequate cooking supplies, so we've learned to bring our own. The carpets and sofa are stained, old, and sticky. The bathroom could use a decent cleaning. A few years back we were told that they were renovating, but I could not tell where. Our last night there, 3 police officers knocked on our door to ask if we were okay. I think they were suspicious of us because we had our door slightly propped, but luckily we still had our church clothes on. There had been some type of disturbance on the premises, but we were affected by what ever took place. Someone cut their finger outside the main entrance and a poor attempt to clear up the blood was made; numerous blood splatters remained. Locals live at the hotel and cause problems in the community, but they generally don't bother the guests. The last thing you want to see when you are leaving for church is a young lady walking around with her "hind cheeks" hanging out of her super tight shorts and the imprint of her "front parts" when she turns around; which makes me think she was using the hotel as her place of "business". Why stay here 8 times? Our organization got a decent rate and this last stay was only because another hotel messed up our reservation, so we came back to what was familiar. Unless something about the pool was not apparent to me, it is the only nice thing at Crestwood...oh sorry...the rates are decent, too. All in all, this place is dirty, stinks, is old, needs a REAL RENOVATION, and seedy activities happen all the time. Next year, I will shorten my stay in the area so I can afford a different place. If the HUGE potholes in front of the hotel don't serve as a warning to you, then please heed my review; STAY AWAY!

“STAY AWAY”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

I have a pretty low standard for hotels having traveled extensively on my own and staying in cheap places but I walked out of this place! There is a horrible smell the second you walk in. The surroundings seem very sketchy and dangerous - I was seriously concerned my car would be broken into. When I got to my room, it was not clean at all. All the furniture had stains, there was dirt ground into the floor and what I'm pretty sure were blood stains in the bathroom. I didn't even set my stuff down because I didn't want to know what was growing on the floor. When I went to complain, they said the hotel was full and offered me a full refund, so that was one bright spot. Do yourself a favor and stay at the La Quinta down the street - much better experience!

“Are you serious???”

Let me start by saying this was the worst place I've ever seen in my entire life. My husband and I came there for a church conference with our infant baby. I was very excited about this trip and we spent lots of time preparing. When we got there, it was almost 11 pm and I was very tired and hungry. I sat in the car while my husband checked in. We got the keys and went around to out room which first of all far away. When we opened the door, I we were overwhelmed by a nasty, funky smell of smoke, marijuana and...crack??? OMG!!! I literally held my breath as we walked down the corrider and coupled my infant's nose. The room was awful!!!! The lighting was dim and it smelled just like the hallway. The furniture had stains and floors were NASTY! There were bugs on the floor in the kitchen and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in centuries. As soon as I walked in, I could have literally walked back out AND there was no way I was putting my baby down in that room. My husband is usually more understanding than I but even he had a sour look upon his face. They didn't even have baby beds...ALL hotels have baby beds...playpins, or something. This was appalling. A downright shame. I wouldn't stay there for free. We went into the bedroom and bed had stains all over it. I was afraid to sit down, seriously. The phone rang and it was the lady from the front desk checking to see if we found our room. I said "...yes...but it smells really bad...." Her reply? "YOU can come to the front desk to get some spray." WHAT?!?!?! WHAT?!?!?!? Are you SERIOUS??? My husband and I went online and booked the RADISSON through orbitz just a few miles down the street which was EXCELLENT! While my husbad loaded the car, I went to the front desk to check out. I told her that we decided not to stay and then she offers to put us in a different room. "No, that's ok," I said kindly as I eyeballed the can of smoke eliminator on the desk. This place was SUPER GHETTO! I've never seen anything like it. As we were leaving, I let out a deep sigh as I saw a group of crackheads roaming around. This place gave me the creeps. It was like something out of a horror flick.
