I had reservations here for 6 nights and didn't even stay one!!! This hotel was horrible! I have stayed at Super 8's before and never experienced what I did here. When booking a Super 8 one does not expect luxury accommodations but you do expect to be safe and have decent accommodations. I was traveling alone (I am a woman) and did not get a good feeling when the desk clerk was behind bullet proof glass. All rooms have an outside entrance with no security. I arrived around about 10 pm and when driving to my room location there were multiple construction workers in the parking lot drinking and partying. I went into the room and was greeted with a very unpleasant order, the drapes were falling off the wall and the bathroom was in a horrible state of disrepair. Since I had prepaid the room I decided to "suck it up" and convinced myself I was being too particular. I was unable to find an electric outlet that worked and that was the final straw. I called the front desk and told the manager that I couldn't stay there and he was extremely rude. I decided to lose the money and find another hotel immediately. When leaving the hotel there were police cars and an ambulance and the lobby was full of uniforms. That solidifed my decision! I was so glad to get out of there. I honestly felt that my safety was in jeopardy at this hotel.

I stayed here while visiting Chapel Hill, it's the most affordable motel in the Durham/Chapel Hill area. It's about a 15 minute drive to the UNC campus and about a 5 minute drive to Duke. It's a fairly basic motel, the rooms were clean and smelled alright. I don't think they have an ice machine, I asked the man at the front desk for ice and he gave me some from an ice bag in the front office. The front desk was fairly helpful, checking in was quick and easy. There was free wifi but it was somewhat unreliable and would periodically disconnect, but was pretty fast, I could watch streaming video no problem. The pool looked unclean and I wouldn't swim in it. It was generally pretty quiet and the neighborhood is OK, I felt pretty safe in the room. I will stay there again if I go to the area.

The room was clean. That's the only good thing I can say. Furniture is distressed. bathroom is old. Bathroom floor is unsafely slippery. Room is plain and boring. Hotel claims to have highspeed internet. It doesn't. The internet is slow - not the worst I have experienced in hotels, but certainly not the best by any means. Hotel claims to have a "Super Start breakfast." Wonder where it is. The breakfast consisted of juice, store-box mini donuts and some tiny rolls, three types of cereal and instant oatmeal. No fruit. No yogurt. No quality pastries or bagels. No protean. The coffee in the lobby was acceptable - the in-room coffee was colored water.
The exterior of the hotel is plain and in need of attention.
There's nothing personal or nice about this motel. Even the lack of landscaping is depressing. Staff is unfriendly.

The hotel is located near Duke east campus.Great price for clean room. Staff is friendly. Would definately stay again.
